GSTC - will trash your DAC !!

I ran into another one of my current company's drivers who also drove for GSTC, and he also has the same opinion as to how that place went to hell. Not only that, but they also hired a guy about a year & half ago to assist Tom, and he is even worse! From what I have seen of their equipment, it looks like they are finally getting rid of some junk trailers, but still running the old beat-up freight shakers. The new volvos they have are starting to look rough, and I hated the way Tom was manipulating the anti-idle stuff on them, and I'm still hearing about how badly the attitude toward drivers has deteriorated there. The only way I would ever return there is if Gordon Sevig himself took back control of the company, got rid of Tom & marykay, hired back Dave Smutz and the other old office people that made the company so great, and restored the freight base for its company drivers instead of farming it out to cheap brokerage truck so "el cheapo" tom could buy another paint job for that stupid Harley of his that he trailers to bike rallies and tries to act like a real biker. However, I doubt that will happen since I heard that the old man got fed up, washed his hands of the whole thing and told the kids it's their own fault if the run the outfit into the ground. If you like to make steady miles and decent paycheck, and be at least respected as a driver, avoid GSTC, since its been taken over by the greed of the next generation.

 

They got a sign on bonus now?? Sounds like Tom and Mary Kay really got the revolving door scheme going.

Yep, saddens me that its come to that, that company was like family to me when Gordon still had the place under his iron grip. Like I said, whatever respect I had for Tom is gone, he's shone his true colors by being a cheap two faced (censored).

 

Moral of the story 1) worry bout your own trailer don't go PM'imng every trailer on the yard. 2) If your gonna quit don't beat around the bush write your resignation and give it out exactly 2 weeks before you leave. 3) Ask safety to give you a copy of any incidents concerning you during the course of employment.

Driver really? That wasn't necessary . Condo is got a point. You said it yourself there is stupid policies in place and reporting damage to equipment that you didn't hook up to is putting your name on it. The fact that you quit is what pissed them off any body that reads your thread now will know that a written resignation is much better than verbal so see people will benefit from your experience I hope you find a good company driver good luck.

 

There is no sign on bonus at GSTC and 150$ orientation pay. Quit complaining about a company because you cant drive. I love working here at GSTC and i wouldn't go anywhere else. I can't believe people are listening to you people. You don't have many of your facts straight at all. Grow up people. Anyone who wants real information on GSTC talk to me and i will help you out.
