Well I still have all my limbs so that's a good thing. However, a word to the wise for other drivers. Do not trust other people with your safety. Nearly lost a hand to a forklift driver once because he did not do what he was told. Yeah I came over that unit of Lumber and was in the cab of that forklift really fast. Nearly lost alot of fingers to an Trackhoe op once. I'll repeat this! Do not trust other people with your safety! Now when I run that RGN w/ ops in equipment getting ready to load/unload it's hands off the controls. You may not like me but you will respect me. Take your time and do it right the first time.

    1. Document everything your dispatch tells you. Even if they don't want to send it to your QualComm or on board computer. Get a note pad and wright down what was disccused, who you talked to, the time and date. "CYA"
    2. If your truck is unsafe ie light out, brakes worn. Don't drive it allot of new guys don't want to get fired. But if you get caught the ticket is on you! I don't care if the have to send a service truck if you are a company driver it is there truck not yours. I will normally drive 15 miles or under to a shop, but don't set yourself up to fail. If your rig is unsafe to roll don't, make them fix it!
    3. We all make mistakes don't let them get you flustered, if you have to pull over pull yourself together and move on.
    4. GOAL Get Out And Look who cares if it takes you fifty times, it is better to look, then back into something.
    5. If you drive as a team, get 2-way radios with privacy chanels and have your co-driver spot for you on backing. (even have a employee help) I see to many accidents when the fellow co-driver is in the passenger seat.

And Finally Wall will let you park!

using my cell phone GPS instead of the truck Qualcomm GPS to find a yard now I'm out of hours in a residential neighborhood in Denver with the sign up the street that says no vehicles over 9000 pounds allowed, and I'm blocking the stop sign two feet from the rig so hopefully I get some hours back and can skate before some Johnny Law pounds on the side of the truck.

Yes indeed. When crossing a one way street. Do you only look in the direction that traffic is supposed to be coming from?

Don't trust a sign with your safety. Be it a one way sign or a stop sign...

Dumbest thing I ever did was after a long day. Woke up in the morning to a pool of oil 2ft wide under my truck from an o ring that blew on my air compressor, ran into the t/s bought 2 gallons of oil topped it off, delievered my load after sitting for 4 hours, unloaded ran over to Iowa to pick up tanks. Took a wrong turn because I was given wrong directions (kinda) took a different exit than most drivers ended up having to drive down a gravel road to get back to the shipper in Iowa. Called good old kitty cat to fix my oil leak (didn't know it was from the compressor o ring at the time, got over to cat at 7:30 met my dad to hook his truck to my trailer to deliver now I had enough common sense that morning to make my log book legal but after setting the brakes cranking down the gear and unlocking the 5th wheel I didn't have enough sense to uncouple my light chord and air lines. After about 6 feet I finally heard stop got out walked back one hand scratching my head other one scratching my ### thinking hmmmm...maybe its time for me to get off the road for today.

Next day I found out I was the only flatbedder that requested his bills be noted no damage if there wasn't any damage. And getting the guy to write those 2 simple words...my god I might as well grabbed a pair of vise grips and started trying to rip his teeth out.
