My name's John. I am new to TTR, and thought I would give a little background on myself. I am 24, and a auto and diesel tech by trade. I discovered the life of an OTR driver while deployed to Iraq in '06-'07 with a heavy haul unit driving a HEMTT wrecker. When I got back stateside (Arlington, Tx for those who are curious), I went into training to become a certified technician. After school I worked at a variety of dealerships around the D/FW area working on everything from Isuzus to Freightliners to Fords. I have been talking on and off with drivers that I met about earning a CDL and seeing all this country has to offer. I finally pulled the trigger on the last job, and I am currently looking for a company to drive for.

Yeah, I can get kinda long winded sometimes...

Look forward to seeing you all on the road soon!

Well, good for you. Lots of those refrigerated trailers have Isuzu engines.

The best money annually is with tanker or flatbed companies. I think System Transport has a terminal in Laredo, TX and they hire new drivers. If you can land a tanker/hazmat job you can make $65K + annually either running local or OTR.
System Transport and Melton Truck Lines and Maverick are 3 good OTR flatbed companies.
