Set in orientation 4 days, 70 people. Paperwork came slowly. After 4 days told to go home and wait till we were called.
They don't have enough trainers for the amount of students they had.
Set at home 4 days so far. Messed my Unemployment up, others quit their jobs to go to orientation. Called some other classmates and their still sitting at home also. Were told it might be 2 to 3 weeks before a trainer is available. Hope all trucking company's (ain't) this unorganized. I sound impatient don't i. Been out of work for 3.5 months. I'm ready to go to work. Forget getting phone calls returned. I hope i'm not sounding to harsh, but all the truth. Seems all these trucking companies are looking for good dependable drivers. Is there not a good dependable truck driving company out there?????????????????????????

I used to work fr u s xpress when i first started driving three years ago. the same thing happened to me, although i had 6 months experience, I still had to wait 3 days so they could find me a truck. finally had to ride from tunnel hill ga with other driver to memphis yard to p/u truck that was left there. I would have thought that u. s. would have fixed this problem by now, doesnt sound like it though. Same thing with the students when i was there, they had to wait forever to get a mentor. all in all they are not a bad company though. they will run you once you get going and get your own truck, good luck to you

finished also told maybe 2 to 3 weeks, adv training cord not going to wait, i would rather go to another company for six to nine months and get training on a manual trans, and come back to u s xpress so i dont have to go to training for another company because i started out with auto

I've said it before, and I'll say it again....
Crowded orientation classes are bad news. Do these guys have 70+ fresh recruits every week? That'd be 70 x 52, or around 3600 a year. And that's just at one terminal. Sounds like a great company to work for. I wonder how long I myself would last before quitting just like all those other guys in the past did?
70 guys going in who are replacing last week's quitters. Sounds like the dam broke, meaning a bunch quit 'em unexpectedly for some reason, which is yet another reason to stay out of there. Just the fact you guys are sitting around not getting paid while you wait, thanks to their lack of planning, would keep me away from there. -
I finally gave up on them.I got out of orientation dec 13 and till this day have been at the house.Bills dont stop when you aint workin.I might just have to go off reserve status and go active duty for a living. This industry is jacked dude..The only thing I need is respect.I dont need a condo sleepper,$5,000 a week,4,000 miles a week, and I dont a brand new truck...I need respect,I refuse to be treated like a pile of crap.Maybe if drivers would have had that attitude before all thses companies like swift and jb and usx started actling like they did,we would all be in a better place by now.I guess its like beating your wife.If she takes it,eventually she is not gonna care and get used to it and you are gonna think its ok.Jb,swift, werner, and cr think its "ok" to treat drivers like crap cause nothing will happen to them.Just like the guy who beats his wife.In these companies eyes' they dont see a problem with what they are doin cause no one ever cared to tell them what they are doin is wrong.I just dont understand how the most scrutinized, underpaid, and most vital industry in america cant stop the way this industry works. All it would take would be one strike lol...

Oh and tip, there is alot more then that lol. That was 70 where he was at.I had about 30 at mine. The guy doin the oreintation said the do at 10 locations. There orientations are mon-wed,wed-fri-fri-sun.Imagine all the people that go through all 10 locations lol.I wish i would have known that before I got there.I wonder why they do that to themselves.

The bad thing about it, is if a driver finally gets po'd enough to try and do something about it, they will put a marker in your dac report saying you are a problem driver with a bad attitude. In this politically correct world we have had shoved down our throats, if you get out of line and become argumentative with someone you stand a good chance of being arrested for disorderly conduct.

I don't want to sound to negative about USX, but to add some more info about orientation. USX told me to quit any job that i might have, before i came to orientation. Same was told to the other people in our class. These people were also told to go home and sit and wait till they received a phone call that a trainer was available. I got to listen to several people that were very upset because they had quit their jobs and now were told to go home and wait for USX to call them. I've invested a lot of money in training etc.... (First time i ever paid to get a job). LOL. I'm still waiting on a phone call from them. So far i've only seen, unorganized, unprofessional, wrong information, coming from their staff. This really worries me. Are they going to treat their drivers the same way out there on the road???? Good luck to anyone else that was in their orientation class. Still waiting on that phone call.

I too was out of work for 2 months and after reading this post I think I made the right decision. Good luck to all of you.
