Also is the MX a good motor.

When was the last major? Are you paying over $20,000.00?

Wouldn't touch it with a 10ft pole if it hasn't had a GOOD inframe, including a new head and 6 injectors turbos are iffy most guys don't replace them. But to do a platinum O/H on that motor is around 26-28k I believe. So no in frame or an in frame with no paperwork I wouldn't be willing to pay more than about 25k for it. Personally I hate the ACERT cat. Its a dog we have an msx in our 06 its a dog. In an 07 should be an NSX prefix. Google that prefix and see what you find that's why I shied away from an 07 we found. Loved the truck hated what I read about the motor. Also on the msx make sure the CVA or whatever studs have been updated if they haven't when the overhead is run have them replaced. When they're lugged down the studs break and the motor will grenade. Then a $1000 repair becomes 5-6k. Fuel milage sucks we have yet to see more than 5.5 out of ours unless were Bob tailing. For what its worth I wouldn't ever buy another truck with a motor post 04 and the 04 would have to be debridged and uprated. 03 and back is much better gets rid of the emissions crap and less headache. For what its worth my e model only makes about 26lbs of boost our msx makes double that and that e model will walk all over that msx even when its heavier.

Thanks for the good infor getting a 200000 mile warranty with it price around high 40s.

I can find trucks with C-15, less miles for $15000- $20,000. Then you can have a huge cushion for repairs. The best part will be that it will have 0 miles on the parts that you put into it.

Someone help me please. What is the diffrence between a mx cat 475 and a mxs

I think you or the salesman have your letters mixed up. MX is the Paccar engine, an MXS, NXS, and BXS are engine serial number prefixes for the Acert engines.cetanediesel Thanks this.

We put a Bullydog on ours which was a dog and now everyone wants to drive it. Just made it an awesome truck. Mpg stayed the same but get down the road much quicker and home quicker.
