I have a 2011 387 pete with a ISX 15 engine and was wondering about the coolant tank located below the driver POV. Is that tank suppose to be full at all times, whether it the starting for the day or at the end of the day? I used to have a diffent truck where you can see the entire coolant tank. Right now I get a Low coolant warning when I start the truck in the morning but it goes away after 5 min of idoling in the morning.
Coolant question

I always keep my coolant full, regardless of the brand of truck.

There should be hot and cold marks to show proper coolant levels. Too low and the low coolant sensor will prevent the truck from idling more than 20 or 30 seconds. Sounds like you need to fill the reservoir to the cold water mark before you start the engine. Let your shop know how much you add so they can make a note to check for a leak when it comes in for service.

Yea, seems that the level rises when the engine is running due by the pressue of the water pump and the coolant level sensor reads it as full. Theres a slow leak somewhere.

For my referance there is only the level and tank for the 2011 387 right below the driver pov right? Or is there anther place where the level can be seen? Right now it either an evaporation or very slow dry leak somewhere
