Hubby got a call the other day, about his one year. Hubby said, "Have we been married that long?"
It's been rocky at times, but we're learning. We've been stood up and we talked some crap. We've been pissed and refused to call. We've been insecure and called too often. Sometimes, we've had nice surprises, good loads and good agents.
Landstar was good to us, this week. We've had two STELLAR agents! AXL and BMK freakin' rock! We choose to concentrate on the good times, and make it through the bad.
Next week, it'll be the same grind, but this week was really nice. Thanks, LS!
It's our 1 year BCO anniversary!

Happy BCO anniversary!! I keep notes on good AND bad brokers and agents. When I leased to Landstar they issued a pocket sized book of agents with room to make notes. I don't think that they do that these days. The trucking software that I use has a section where I can key in brokers, agents and shippers. I use Trucknpro to keep my books. It really comes in handy. I use the broker list more than anything else in the software. Unless I have something lined up when I am going to an area, I will check my list and see if there is someone who gets decent freight out of where I am going. Trucknpro has a version of their software for BCO's. I don't know if they offer Landstar a discount. Before computers, we used to keep our contacts in a small black book (mine was red). It sounds like you have made a couple of good contacts. Some of their agents work with other agents to keep trucks turned back to each other's freight.

I made the 1 yr mark with another company.I did'nt even think i'd make the 1 month mark. But here I am still with the same company.I would say a yr is the right amount of time to know if the company is right for you.
truckfam Thanks this. -
Thanks!
I used to have a super program that tracked everything. Loved it! I'll check out the trucknpro. For now, I give the good agents gold stars, on my list. Our yahoo account allows lists. I have a star list and a #### list. Just happens, two agents made my star list, this week.
Lemme name them and acclaim them, again. Dale at AXL and Michelle at BMK!
When we started,(with another company), I got a crap list from a dispatcher. I've always kept lists.
Thanks for reminding me! There's an agent in CA, who I neglected to put on my other list. DH sat for over 6 hours and I asked about detention. The dude laughed at me, when I asked, then he hung up. He's gonna be hard up for drivers, after July 1. -

I like to keep track of the good and bad brokers/agents. There was no reason for that agent to be rude to you. Most of the agents that I have dealt with at Landstar have been very professional. If you decide to go with the software, I would encourage you to make sure to back up or print a hard copy of your contacts. I had almost 300 contacts in my broker file and when my computer crashed I could not get the data out. The guy at Trucknpro was able to finally access the data and I really appreciate it. There is no telling how much money that I lost by not having my list. I now have a backup, just in case. -
Congrats on your 1 year anniversary. Just think, 9 more years of safe driving and you get a cruise!
