truckin... hey no problem it was good to meet you. Be safe out there and check in w/us from time to time, I'm sure we will see u around.

Today was more in town driving, I am glad we are doing it because I tell ya, manuvering these huge machines is not an easy task. OH!!! I saw my first trailer being dropped by a rig. He just got on the highway and got it pulled all the way in the lane... then......pop goes the trailer. I felt real bad for the guy..but he was an experienced driver (they say).

    More Later................................

Wow....that is why you go under the trailer with a flashlight when you hook up to make sure it's all good. It wasn't one of our trucks was it?

It was a first day 3 dayer. which means a new driver with experience in the 3 day orientation. Yes it was going to be one of ours. Our truck, our trailer.

Hey B-rad.... So far so good, W/S is a good company to work for. There is a lot more paper and com/call (?) work and time involved. But it's all still real "NEW" at this time, so give me a month or two. Sal

    P.S. I hate chaining!:biggrin_2553:

Sorry new class have a good fun & safe trip.

Wow...I hope it was mechanical failure. Maybe a good lesson for everyone of us...don't become complacent in checking to make sure your locking jaws are locked CORRECTLY around the kingpin when you hook, it's worth the 15 seconds it takes to shine a flashlight underneath to check it. If you don't see the flange on the underside of the closed locking jaws, it's not hooked correctly!

I know that at my former company that is one of the things that will get you fired. No questions asked, if you lose your trailer you are down the road with a preventable on your record....sounds harsh, but it'll make you look everytime.

Heya Sal. I have yet to meet anyone who likes to chain. lol
I got lucky, I got out of there in between storms I think, made it to California without needed to chain up...I'm hoping for a loads to the Southwest through March! lol

Parked at the Modesto Terminal now, it was a ghosttown when I got there on Sunday. I didn't like that there is no way into the building on the weekends, seems like they should get us access to use the bathrooms/showers and get paperwork though...weird.

916...... I'm ( the truck ) parked in Modesto myself, will be In Sac for a few days. I didn't see any showers or laundery in that building there. In Denver they told me to unhook the trailer and use the tractor to get around ( if your stuck there ) sense there were no company cars to use... Modesto's yard Isn't the greatest place just to hang around. But there is always the "Taco Truck" across the street.:biggrin_2552: Sal
