Dropped my joint and spilt my beer!

There is Karma in the world:

Was coming in Redding and traffic was thickening up. Both lanes were doing around 45-50 mph. I was being nice and keeping about 100' in front of me, keeping up with traffic but leaving space to keep from shifting all the time. A 4-wheeler cuts in front of me, passes a SUV on the right, and then cuts him off to get back in the hammer lane. Both of us had to hit our brakes when he cut us off. The SUV he cut off just happened to have CHP on it's license plate :) and his lights went on immediately. I would've loved to hear what the officer had to say...

A DAILY aggravation for me is drivers who can't figure out how negotiate an on ramp.......

    Should I go faster?
    Should I go slower?
Is that big truck gonna run me over?
    Why doesn't he move over?
    Stupid truckers.
    I think I'll go faster.
    No, maybe not.
I wonder how fast he's going?
    I'll bet plenty fast.
    Stupid truckers.
I wonder if I can go faster than him?
I'll bet not. Them truckers drive mighty fast.
Well, coming to the end of the ramp.
    Why doesn't he move over?
    Can't he see me?
    Stupid truckers.
Maybe I should try to go faster and out run him.
I wonder how fast he's going?
    Stupid truckers.
Well, at the end of the ramp now.
Time to slam on the brakes and get pissed off.
Now I gotta get behind that stupid, slow truck.
Maybe I should have went faster.......
    Stupid truckers.

But the best / worst of all was the lady who came to a COMPLETE STOP in the slow lane of a 4 lane freeway to let someone else on.......

Wow...Giggles: you know that this thread could quite literally go on forever, right? We will never, ever run out of material for this one

Okay, first I will admit that at this point I should have already pulled over and parked the truck.

I was headed East on 1-10 in Texas, out in the middle of nowhere, in the middle of the night. There hadn't been any cars for miles. There were a few lights bobbing around WAY back in the distance, too far to tell what they were though.

Totally in the "zone", cruising along on auto-pilot, brain in neutral, tired as hell, just trying to make it that last 100 miles. I know, I know...I should have stopped, but what happened next reminded me WHY I needed to not be driving with my brain in neutral. Best way to explain is to give you my thoughts as it happened. Now remember, all of this happened in a split second to me because of the neutral issue.

Me: Flashing my brights at him to get him to dim his wont work. Never does....wow those things are bright, maybe he will dim them as he gets closer to me, nope, now he is almost to my nose and still hasnt dimmed them...wait, wait a minute, WTF..? THIS GUY IS coming right at me, TRAVELING WEST on EAST BOUND.

It was over before it fully registered but the scary part was in how long it took my brain to register that something was seriously wrong with this picture. Had he been in my actual lane, it would have been too late by the time I registered it. That scared me half to death.

I was afraid to look in my mirrors for fear I would see him tangle up with what I now knew to be trucks based on the abundance of amber lights. There wasn't time to get on the CB to warn them.

    So that's a "twofer"
4-wheeler: driving on the wrong side of the highway
trucker: driving while too tired to be paying attention

Let me guess. You were in El Paso? However at night, it is sometimes hard to tell what side an oncoming car is on...especially on a curvy two-lane highway

Edit...sorry, didn't see you had said you were in the middle of no where...haha. sorry I just woke up Lol

I just keep the same speed or speed up. 9 times out of 10 they hit the brakes, even if they're 50' in front of you. If you both slow down, the situation doesn't change.

Been there, seen that, on WA167. Traffic was moving at around 50 mph when she came to a stop. Fortunately, I was on the on-ramp about the third vehicle back.

Worst thing I've seen was the other day when I was on my way to work in my 4 wheeler & it was dark, snowing & wind was blowing about 30. Im driving 50 on a 2 lane & out of nowhere comes a big rig going at least 65. Mind you that the highway was slush & snow. Thank god there wasn't anyone coming at me in the other lane because he wouldnt've been able to slow down without turning me into an accordion. He passes me & sprays slush & snow all over my Tahoe & I'm basically blinded for 10 seconds. Im a truck driver, but most of the dumbest things I've seen on the road have been by big rigs.

I disagree. I've never seen a big rig use the shoulder as a passing lane, but I've seen 4-wheelers do it. They even passed other cars
