I'm using paper which is a whole lot easier.
And alot less stressful too.
Got stuck behind a car accident yesterday and wasted a little over an hour of my time waiting to get out of it. Then blew a drive tire out while only an hour and twenty minutes from home. Took a freakin' hour and half to get my tire changed and back on the road. My paper logs allowed me to not be punished for something out of my control and go home to my family and enjoy my weekend. Paper logs rule and should be the only way to go in reality.MZdanowicz Thanks this. -
I can change my Eclipse logs when i want. It also calculates my hours and automatically fills in all my info.windsmith Thanks this.

It appears that some folks are confused by the differences between EOBR and electronic logs. They're not the same, at all. EOBR's are Electronic On-Board Recorders which automatically log based on the parameters from the truck telemetry and a bit of user input. You can't really modify the EOBR logging data.
Electronic logs, like Eclipse, DDL, Truck Logger, etc. are software applications that a driver can run on his computer, which allow him to produce printed logs, just like the paper logs... BUT the software has routines which check for violations and other technical caveats which can easily be missed. The driver has full control of how, where, when, etc. to log, at his discretion. In fact, using electronic logs makes it easier to cheat because you can edit them much easier than paper logbooks, and the software will tell you when you're in violation.
Many of the electronic logging applications also provide a ton of additional features, which come in really handy for the owner-operator; such as IFTA reporting, trip tracking, fuel & maintenance reports, etc. I use Truck Logger which offers all of that and more, plus runs on Linux (and windows). It saves me time, and more importantly, helps me rest easy knowing that I am not driving around with an error on my logs that will get me busted the next time the red light comes on and I'm instructed to "Park, bring in paperwork". -
I stated that previously, but you cant read or remember very well. I will not be responding to any of your posts mr cowpie because it is a lost cause. goodbye and have a nice life!

I'm going to go with B, and I suspect that one is your favorite too.
Why be busy making no money when you could be completing a reset?
Why put miles on your truck?
Why risk you might blow a tire? -
