    Hi Guys and gals,
New to this forum and website. I have had my Class A CDL for about 30 years, hell we called it a class 1 back then. And it's been a long time since I was in a TT. But looking to get back into it.
The economy being what it is and all. I retired from my regular job a while back. Then did my home improvement (kitchens, baths, wood floors, tile, windows & doors, etc) for years.
But now with this economy I am competing with tons of unlicensed, unskilled, uninsured, bozo's for work; because they are out of work, they have a pickup and a hammer and they watched a couple of DIY shows on TV.
So now they are contractors! You can't believe the horror work I have seen because if it. But the homeowner can only think that they are a few hundred dollars cheaper. You get what you pay for.
Anyway, I am looking to get back into trucking. But seeing how I have been away from it so long it's a problem. I am sure open to suggestions!
I dropped the hazmat as that required that I redo testing every other year all these years I wasn't using it.
I have taken all the online testing here and pass with flying colors. But I am sure I am very rusty behind the wheel. My first thoughts are to team up with another guy and ease back into it. Which would be great if I had a buddy that does this. But I don't. Murphys Law I guess. And I talk to trucking companies and all I see or hear is that they want 6 month to 2 years recent experience.
Help!!! What in the world do I do? I'd even drive a dump truck, but they want experienced as well.
I touched base with CR England but then researching them I found out what a nightmare they were. I hear Warner is pretty much the same way.
Anybody need a 2nd?????? A guy that's clean, neat, intelligent, and has his #### together but is a little rusty.
    Can't hurt to ask.
I like this forum, and I'm sure I will learn the new and relearn some old on here.

I hear ya! It'll be a few years till I can get back out there and I worry about the same things. I believe persistance will pay off and an opportunity will come your way. My dad was out of it for several years and met an O/O that needed a driver and spent a year running with him. Those guys are out there and looking for someone like you. Keep your head up!
