I could really put this thread into a tailspin and say that the split speed limits were needed due to the fact that if trucks cannot keep up with cars, they cannot tailgate cars... and the rear end aspect of the differing stopping distances between trucks and cars was the reason for them.. (I'll get ready for all the super truckers to get butthurt and attempt tosmash these facts)
