I am thankful that I am an 'old-school' driver. I don't need to ask about who is a good or bad company-just look at the name on the side of the truck. The point to make is-most mega-carriers do not give you the treatment you may deserve. You new drivers should take heed of this forum and notice that most large companies are full of 'do's and dont's'-too many formalities. Firstly, when you have to spend more than 2 days (which is usually how long a drug screen takes) for an orientation-there will be a lot of crap to follow. I have read many of the complaints and talked to many driver over 24 years as a driver-and even when they or I cannot prove something, at least I keep it in mind. Carriers names such as PTL, Werner, MAY, C.R.England, Swift, CRST, Heartland, Prime, Knight, Ozark, Henderson, Tango, Lawson, Falcon, Carrol Fuhlmer, Roehl, and the likes come-up all to often, so you should bear-in mind that there may be some major problems working for them.

I got no problems at ozark. The treat you fairly and pay well and like clock work have me home when they say. People will always have a problem no matter where because they think they run the show. News Flash, They dont!!!!

Thats true there may be some major problems.Every mega carrier is like that. But you have to start somewhere. If this is what ppl wanna do then they have to suck it up,pay your dues then move elsewhere. That's how trucking is and always will be.Its a love to hate carreer.

Looking back you were the one denied employment by ozark and made them out to be a bad company. Your point in that case is moot. Also you said you had 4 years exp and now your saying 24 years and "Old school". Suck up the fact you got something these companies didnt want, we are all happy here.

There are places to start other than megacarriers . Far too many that chose a megacarrrier to start at also end their career there inless than a year , often with a large bill for "free" schooling and a negative DAC . Many people just don't have natural skill , perception , coordination , and judgement needed to succeed . It should be obvious to these people at a CDL mill but they stubbornly persist until they get terminated or rejected at orientation .

Every company different yet the same large mega or the small mom and pop companies. All the same. Some us easier to get along with than others for each and everyone. I had as many problems or more with small companies as with Larger ones. It all how you go into it and state of mind that u have

I don't care how large the company is; show me the pay and benefts, that's why I'm there. Don't care what name is on the door either; it's all about pay and benefits to me.
