Is truck driving about $10 per hour?

No, I did not accept it, it was forced upon me after the fact. By SWIFT. Its a 575 mile over night run from Idaho falls thursday afternoon to Reno friday morning. Supposed to be a drop and hook at the shipper, but it wasn't. Took almost 6 hours for a live load there, which put me a couple hours late so someone decided that it'd be acceptable to change the delivery from Friday morning to Tuesday afternoon while at the same time, refusing to let me drop it at our Reno yard. Thanks SWIFT!

Fontana, CA terminal. Been here for 15 or so months now.

 

dam bro that bites I wouldve pushed for it to be dropped at there yard if the dm said no i i wouldve went above him/her no reason an LTL driver shouldnt be able to take it tuesday. but sounds like some one screwed up somewhere and was trying to Cover there butt and put the bad end on you. i would push for it more when the drop time got changed. i just hope swift doesnt put that late drop on your dac. I dont know how they are at swift with that.

15 months at swift your doing ok than if you have put up with them that long lol ... but maybe this is the first time they have done this to you i havent worked there but there are enough (ahem) storys about swift to make me concerned with how they operate..

 

If life was all about making a killing we would all be Politicians and not truck drivers. Plenty of jobs out there that you could make more money at but not as many as adventurous on a daily bases......
