Roehl Transport

I would go with Roehl. From what I hear Crete and Maverick are decent as well. Roehl has a lot of options out of the Ellenwood (Atlanta) terminal. SE regional being one of them. I have been at Roehl for almost ten years so that should say something.

 

They are probably going to be as good a training company as you will find and after your year is over you can get on with a company that may appreciate what you do more than Roehl appreciated what I did. Unless things have changed dramatically in the past several months, the only happy drivers at Roehl are the trainers (and their brand new students). I said it before and I will say it here, it is a shame that this industry forces people to endure such garbage to make a living. I love the work, just not who I worked for at the time.

Stay away from Swift for sure. You don't need the training, but if an outfit takes such a relaxed view of training as SwiftQuit does, you want no part of it.

Swift allows guys with 6 months' experience to be trainers. This means the dude who is your trainer may have only 6 months' experience and may in turn have been trained by someone who had only 6 months' experience who in turn....you get the idea. They call it the "mentor" program. What they should call it is the "mental" program.

 

We'd still go to Roehl...still there after 4 years.

 

Is good to and for the people up in the northern states but Homeboy down south doesn't agree. I am in the south also and Homeboy may have more influence on my decision. Any recommendations otherwise Homeboy?
I would appreciate any useful suggestions.
I know that there is no automatic right choice and all have to do with people and relationships but we have to base our decisions on something other than money.

6 months at Roehl if they have previous experience. Otherwise the minimum is 1 year. Most of the trainers in my "train the trainer class" had five years or more. Sometimes a female might get pushed through because of the lack of female trainers.

 

Yep, out of the 1500+ drivers the only ones happy are the trainers and new students. What is the name of the great company you are working for?

 

From the sounds of the previous post--seems like its a good idea for some women to go with Roehl! Possibly will check that out! Thx guys!

 

Only one year? Unbelievable. One should have a minimum of three years' experience to be a trainer, and then he should have to pass certain tests, such as personality tests and sociability tests. If a guy with ten years' experience is anti-social and/or has no patience, he may as well be a green driver when it comes to being able to train.

That's my opinion.
