How about a plastic tube just larger than the rolled up straps, cut a slit in the tube just big enough to allow the hook end to slide through. The longer the tube the more strap it can store.

    Jimmbuds and SHC Thank this.

I saw those, but thought they were kind of pricey. I wonder if Amazon has them. I would look, but beer thirty has arrived again.

They are a bit pricey, but I have had the same 12 for over a year now.

I have 3 packages of those strap bands. I'll give them away. They are such a PITA to get around a rolled up strap, it's not worth the hassle. I just roll mine tight and place them flat next to each other. They keep themselves from unraveling that way.

20 short lumber straps in milk crates, 10 long straps in front, 8 chains, and two long front to back straps for hay. Plus 2 bars and strap roller. All stowed nicely in one box. IMG_20130409_113429_351.jpg

Nicely organized! Where would one get those "milk crates?"

    Thanks.

    God bless and be safe!

I have 30 straps and I use the rubber bands. Some of my straps are new and still have the manufacturers strapping on them, but I have about 20 straps with the rubber bands on them. They cost 5 dollars at most truck stops...After using them a bit, they loosen up and are easier to get on and off the strap, so it doesn't really take much time to use them. I've been doing it this way for about a year and a half now, and I haven't noticed any extra time or hassle...
