Cool, you were doing good then..Was running mostly in the east and south back in March. Now mainly in the Midwest and Southwest. Will see how this continues it is always a learning experience out here. I'm happy with it so far!

I average that amount driving less than 2000 miles a week and never leaving Texas. Yes I am a SNI O/O on the choice board.

A lot of the shorthaul loads out of Dallas and I normally can do 2 a day. By doing this I can average over $2 a mile and maintain a high MPG because of the flat ground and fuel is generally cheaper here in Texas. I can form a triangle between Dallas, Houston and San Antonio. I focus on drop and hooks with open windows and keep my deadhead very low. Has worked quite well for me.

Always interesting to me finding out how other drivers in this business run! Thanks. I been running a triangle from Texas to California a lot lately. Didn't work out this week but grab some good paying loads from Texas to SC and back to TX. I run a lot more miles than ETCH5858 though. Like your strategies guys. Been thinking of doing something like that in the North East close to home. Now that the weather is getting better will probably look into it more!

atrucker.....are those figures based on a new truck?
My problem is this, I really don't want to lease a new truck, but the selection of used trucks available is pathetic. I'm cleared by SNI Finance and all, and I just want to find a good, decent used truck to drive. As I understand it, the truck payments will be roughly the same for new vs. used. The only difference being that with a used truck, you pay more towards your maintenance fund than you do with a new truck. But, as I told Sarah, the mait. fund is your money and when / if you leave, anything in there is yours.
I really don't want to lease a $150,000 truck.....I'm looking more towards ownership. Any advice / comments on my thoughts? -

Ya if you want to starve to death..

If I understand correctly if you have no O/O experience and finance a truck through Schneider you can go straight to the "choice" board where you can pick your freight. If you bring in an outside truck and have no O/O experience then you must use the mileage-based forced dispatch program for a year first, then can switch over to choice. Is my understanding there correct?
Like Dipschitt, I don't want to buy a new truck. I'm not interested in making payments on a $147,000 truck with a freaking 10 speed and 2.64 gears. The only ones that I have seen so far that even remotely appeal to me are the T2000s with the C15 and a 13spd... I wish they had more of a selection as well.
