Passenger shot after car cuts off truck

    1/16/08
    Deseret News, UT
MIDVALE — The driver of a pickup truck shot a man in the back of the head after being cut off while leaving a grocery store parking lot Tuesday night, police said.

The shot missed a female passenger in the back of the car but hit a man sitting in the front passenger seat, Midvale Police Sgt. John Salazar said.
The victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
"The driver of the truck took offense to the traffic mistake," Salazar said.
The incident happened just before 10 p.m. in the parking lot of Smith's Food and Drug near 7000 S. 900 East.
The car's driver and another passenger said they inadvertently cut off the truck, police said. The driver of the truck followed the car for several blocks.
When they saw the man reaching under his seat, the driver of the car tried to speed off.
That's when, police said, the man in the truck fired a single shot.
"The driver didn't hear the shot, he felt the glass," Salazar said. "He looked over and noticed there was blood." Police said the driver then turned his car around, looking for a hospital. When he saw a Salt Lake County sheriff's deputy, he pulled over near 1300 E. Fort Union Blvd.

####...yea i had someone cut me off about 5 months ago, i was in my personal car, the first time he cut me off i let it go and ignored it...then 2nd time i sped up around my friend who i was following and i drove up along side of the jerk and flipped him the bird....next thing i heard was a gun shot and i took off doing 110mph down the interstate, unfortunatly i never got a plate # of the ####### but later discovered a bullet hole in my passenger door and state police removed my door panel and pulled out the 9mm slug...(investigation is still pending) :(

What you did is committed a act of road rage.... The other person responded with an act of road rage.... No big winners are there?

I hope you learned something.... The next time something like that happens.... Just smile & go about your day like it didn't happen. The life you save just may be yours.
