I'd like to know where is Karnes County??
RedForeman Thanks this. -
Really! I know where Karnes CITY,Tx is but where the heck is Karnes County? Run 48 for years n don't recall that county, thought I was missn something...lol
-
What would i want.?.Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
We can start with good ''truck parking''.Once there we need alot of wild woman, whiskey and some strip dancers.Try and get a really good Southern Rock band and a nice stage together.
Once you get that down, toss in some good food on the grill..Also we need someone to ''check'' in the guns at the gate. This event is only for hetro sexual truckers and lesbians are welcome...No Rainbow Truckers Allowed..We can send them to a Landstar Function..
They will be a better fit over there..
I will get back soon for more of my menu...Anyone else have anything they like to add to the ''venue''...

Karnes County is the county where Karnes City is the county seat.
Who needs free food? I'll bring my own food and enough to share if they have all that.
landstar8891 Thanks this. -
I think he is talking about a repair shop. Anyway, if it had all those things people would be tearing up equipment on purpose!!!!

If you're in Tx how about some freight with a good rate ?

Trucker appreciation day? Small door prizes, little key chains or pens with the phone number to the repair shop. Maybe a err grand door prize of say XXX amount of free labor, parts not included. Ex. my husband bought some headlights $99.00 the place he bought them wanted $200 to install, guess what is still sitting on our top bunk.( we have a friend that will put them in for alot less next time we get home, but still.)
Raffle stuff. . . Just make sure you don't have to be present to win, 2 part tickets with cell number and adress.
The free foods never a bad idea. Maybe have a youth group do a truck wash at a low price, money going to them for. . . well whatever.
On a day to day basis? Nice comfortable place to relax while repair work is done. Tv of course. Clean restrooms. Menues for nearby places that deliver food. Fenced in area for dogs, you don't want them inside, I don't wanna leave them in the truck without heat or air, Tx gets HOT. Hubby said showers and laundry, but that sounds more like a small truck stop not a repair shop.
Good parking. -
Whatever you do, I'd suggest you post something in nearby truck stops and shippers where OTR trucks may actually find out about it and work in a visit. Otherwise it won't take much. Free food will be like fly paper.
When you do attract a crowd, how about offering extended hours, fair pricing, and do the quality work you committed to on time and at the quoted price. Free food and an appreciation day won't fix a failure in that department. My list of shops East of I-35 that can do all those things would fit on the corner of a post-it note.
I Googled the location. The area is about 30 mi SE of San Antonio. A handful of out of route miles for free tacos and some unsweet tea, I'd go if I happened to be in the area and could make the schedule work.
