well here is a + side for you while sleeping your body is more relaxed which in an accident it is the best thing to be is relaxed. when a person tenses up during an accident is when more damage can be done to the body. now being able to protect vital parts of your body and relaxed at the same time is ideal.

ok so your thinking yea right!
look at a drunk driver accident and more times than not the drunk driver can come out with fewer injurys than the person they hit or the non drunk that tensed up in the car. sometimes even when the drunks car substained more damage than the other object
but also if its a really bad accident and your sleeping maybe you would never know it happened anyways!

Problem with companies is to be a trainer you only need like 6 months exp.Companies don't care how you drive, just get your 6 months and you're as good as in.You might wanna ask your company if you can get a trainer with yrs exp not a newbie. It worked for me.

All these, feeder companies seem about the same. Some a little better than others...Guess I'll find out soon enough...

    Rock star NJ:
im originally from Jersey transplanted to Texas for my wife. Here is my two cents. Even the best truck driver can have an accident just as the safest of car drivers can.

Trainers are not always the best at working with multiple people and driving styles. You can fail a DOT inspection in even the best of equipment. What a driver misses, DOT Smokeys will find, this is what they do.

If you are going with CRST for the license and the experience, than do it for that and move on, to your own pierce of trucking nirvana.

I laugh at a lot if these guys who talk bad about CRST and assume the grass is greener elsewhere. No trucking company can guarantee even the best driver or team miles that are consistent.

When trucking companies talk about compensation, they assume a driver will roll everyday and live in the truck and not have another home outside of the truck, so what seems like great $$$ to them is not always great money.

If you can't get past the naysayers, you'll never drive for anyone.

Great post Tex! They should post that on the wall at every CDL school! This industry is much more than just a job, it is a life style you have to learn to adapt to.
