He's right. The only people making Werner look good would be CR England.

Well this was put out in class which I believe there biased considering they have posters all over the school advertising Werner,Swift and Covenant. I think the school gets credit when they send new graduates there. For me I'm differently going with Prime just like the company overall. This fourm has been a big help though.mje Thanks this.

"Find a job you love, and you'll never have to work a day of your life."

This is especially true for truck driving. Find a company that is good for YOU (not everyone else), and you'll be happy. Simple as that. -
Tell the recruiter you want to work for Schneider but pulling a 53' trailer. If he refuses go to Swift or Prime.

The thought of a brand new driver pulling doubles scares me and it does explain some of the stupid crap I've seen on the road lately.
cetanediesel and mje Thank this. -
I swore I seen your dog bragging about being a trainer for Werner.... jkkbowers, MidwestResident and Jakaby Thank this.

Don't let a recruiter tell you that you can do something that you don't feel comfortable doing. If you get out there and do it on the recruiters word and something goes wrong, then it's YOUR responsibility, not the recruiters. It's YOUR CDL that's at stake, not the recruiters. Don't let anyone in this business tell you that you "should" or "have" to do anything. When someone tells you that, simply tell them the only thing in life you HAVE to do is die. The rest is up to you. You do what feels right and makes you feel comfortable.

I've pulled doubles since day one, fresh out of truck driving school and also doing local work in NYC with a 53 footer. It can be done, it requires a healthy respect for your equipment, common sense and some basic knowledge of your job.
Knock on wood, its been almost two years, and I am still a safe driver without an accident to date. Some who get in a truck dont even deserve to drive a car, as they cant even handle that in a safe manner. -
Reminds me of one of my favorite lines from my favorite show.
"Of course you have a choice. We must take in nourishment, expel waste, and inhale enough oxygen to keep ourselves from dying. Everything else is optional."
- Sheldon Cooper
