Good decision, since half our new hire classes are ex-TMC drivers, so you were gonna end up here either way. This way you cut out the middleman![]()

You have chosen well.

Any trick to getting my truck to not shut off my plugs? I'm scared to putcooler just to waste it because the truck turned them off...
-
Not really. The rear plus, lights, etc shut down automatically when your battery voltage drops to a certain level.
If your cooler uses a cigarette lighter type plug, the two on the dash always stay on, but you want to watch it because I tried that with my Coleman and it drew too much power and melted the plug.
What I usually do is move my cooler behind the curtain at night and keep my A/C high. By the time the power shuts down, it's cold in there and usually stays decent until morning. -
Finally dusted off the debit card and bought a REAL fridge/freezer. We had a 40qt. Coleman for 1 1/2 yrs. It did great except when it got really hot out. So we bought this about a month ago. We have no regrets. It's wonderful and the freezer actually holds a lot. It even has a blue light in it. When you open it at night it reminds you of a portal to another world (ghost busters) LOL It takes very little power. Cuts on and off like a house fridge.

Could you give us specifics? Where did you get it? Dimensions? Price?
-
We got it from www.BigRigGifts.com We also paid a small fortune for it. Reg. $499.00 + $99.00 for the Cascadia mounting bracket. Well worth it for the long haul (pun intended) After talking to many drivers about what they use and how long they last, this seemed like the best option. Plus we ran into a Maverick that had one. He showed hubby and hubby was hooked. Fits perfect and very secure. Easy easy hook up. In the Cascadia you just unhook the cig. lighter adapter that is at the bottom of the fridge opening and plug the connectors together. Make sure to save the cig. lighter adapter so it can be put back on later.

I have the same unit and love it. Same time and money. When I'm at home I BBQ on the grill and have good eats all week long.
-
I bought mine in January and have probably saved a good portion of the price by not eating out. If I ever decide not to drive anymore, this will have some resale value also. I think it was well worth it!!!

nc_rider you are the main reason we have ours. It really helped seeing it in person. How's the dedicated going for you?
