Maverick must be lowering their standards, I was asked if I would be interested in training. Ha, now that's funny! I don't do the right seat at all. My wife is an OK driver but I can't ride with her, I always do 100% of the driving.
I don't know how the trainers do it, or why but you have to be glad somebody is willing just not going to be me.

    sewerman Thanks this.

They advertise on Craigslist and Indeed in the Charlotte area for glass and flatbed. I saw some adds a couple weeks ago.

If I was to hire on to the glass side, how often would I pull other freight other than glass. I kinda like the idea of hauling machinery, boom lifts, and all different kinds of freight but I like the 49 cents glass pays

That's probably a question best answered by Razor, but if you want to haul more varying flatbed freight most of the time, then do flatbed. If I guessed, its probably something like 80/20 glass loads to Flatbed loads for those glass guys.

Since I've started 3 months ago on glass hauling I've had 4 non glass loads. They don't like us hauling other stuff because they still pay the glass rate when we aren't hauling glass. Also, if you get a dgl you can get some ridiculous deadheads since they can only be used to haul glass.

Thank you for the fast response, are most of your loads steel on the flatbed LH? Or do they mix it up quite a bit?
