MS Do you guys run all 48 or is your operating area dependent on which terminal you are out of. If I was hired on out of the New Holland terminal I wouldn't want to run all northeast.

New Holland from what I understand is mostly northeast and some south to Wilkesboro. Wilkesboro is mainly I-35 east. Springdale runs out west more. Give them a call and see what they have to offer. I like what I see so far.

MS is right...
I have been here 4 years and am a trainer for Tyson. Typically the New Holland drivers run the NE but most of them are only out a couple of days at a time.
Basic rule of thumb is each fleet has it's region but you tend to go where they need you to.
My fleet is SE but I hate seeing the same thing over and over so I generally run 48 for a couple of reasons. First, I take what they give me and don't cry if it's not exactly what I want, second, because I am where I am supposed to be when I am supposed to be there. -
Tyson has pretty good benefits but they run the most stripped down fleet trucks in the industry. Very uncomfortable seats and little to no storage. Cant take trucks home and they will use it when you go home for time off. When someone uses and they trash it dispatch will tell you it is tysons truck not yours.

Don't know why they don't allow you take the truck home.I was thinking about putting in a app while ago but after reading about not letting drivers take the truck home I change my mind.

I put in an app via workforce Oklahoma for the Tyson pork facility in Holdenville,OK. Good News: It's less than 20mi away. Bad news: I've never hauled live hogs before, only after they were boxed up in a reefer...

Does tyson run any teams?

Yes they run teams.

If you can't take your truck home...be nice to the service department. I work in the shop at a pole yard...I make sure the trucks are right and the work we do "looks good" wether I ever see a driver or not. That being said...the drivers that are nice to you....not fussing griping about the trucks all the time... but letting you know whats wrong...WHEN they find it...not the next week or month...do get the extra mile. Just go in and shoot the bull with them. Not necessarily that I spend more time on the truck...but will make sure once a job is done its cleaner than when it came in and if I see some trash or something I'll throw it away... Little things like that.
This is just from my experience and we have some really good drivers. Just make sure you make friends with your service dept. Take a little time and take a stroll through the shop if they'll let you. Yes its Tyson's truck...yes they pay the bills...but Tyson doesn't take care of your truck...the service dept does. Then maybe you won't have to worry so much about not taking your truck home. Ours do not leave the yard unless on a job. -
