    Tired of not knowing what those other guy is saying on the radio. Don't know your CB Lingo. Well at last here is a complete list. Well maybe not complete but quite a few.
    Trucker CB Lingo

    Aardvark:
    A big rig with a long nose or a conventional tractor.

    Alamo:
    San Antonio, Texas.

    Alligator:
    A tire part from a blown tire on the road. Basically anything on the road that could jump up and destroy your air lines when you run over it.

    Alligator Bait:
    Bits and pieces of a blownout tire.

    Alligator Radio Station:
    A radio that can transmit ok, but receives very poorly.

    Any 1,2 or 3 digit number:
    Usually the mile marker on the highway where something is.

    Astrodome:
    Houston,Texas.

    Trucker CB Lingo B:

    Back Door:
    Behind you or to the rear, Someone who is driving behind your vehicle watching your backside for police.

    Back Out:
    Finished talking, will now stop talking.

    Back Quiet:
    I have finished my transmission and you may proceed to run your mouth when ready

    Back Row:
    Bambi:
    A deer or doe.

    Bear:
    A highway, state or county police officer,a term for a law enforcement officer

    Base Station:
    A home base CB Radio Operating Unit.Bear Bait:
    A speeding driver.

    Bear In The Air:
    A police airplane or helicopter that monitors highway speeds & activates below.

    Bear Trap:
    Sobriety Check Point or One or more police officers are on standby waiting while another officers takes pictures with their laser or radar gun.

    Bed buggers:
    Moving companies like Mayflower.

    Better half:
    Your spouse, ie. your wife,husband,girlfriend or boyfriend.

    Big D
    Dallas,Texas.

    Big Radio:
    Means the radio is operating an illegal linear amplifier to boost the power wattage so they can talk farther away or to override someone.

    Big Road:
    A major interstate highway

    Big-Tall Rubber:
    Large 24-inch tires on a vehicle.

    Big Truck:
    Usually an 18 wheeler when compared to small cars & trucks, but when compared to other large trucks we are talking about a faster truck with a bigger engine.

    Bingo Cards:
    Paper cards that hold information about trucking permits from various states.

    Bird Dog:
    Any radar detector.

    Bluebird:
    Any Martin Company truck. Named because of bird painted on the side of the trailer.

    Bobtail:
    Driving without a trailer

    Boogie:
    Top gear.
    Boss Man:
    Your supervisor or dispatcher at your job

    Brake Check:
    A sudden slowdown in traffic, where you have to hit the brakes to keep from rear ending the vehicle in front of you.

    Break:
    The proper etiquette to gain access to a busy radio channel

    Bubba:
    An unformal version of good friend

    Bull city:
    Durham, North Carolina.

    Bulldog:
    A mack truck it looks tough and ugly.

    Bull Rack:
    A driver and or a truck and trailer for hauling live stock, usually cattle and you can usually smell them coming a mile away.

    Bumper Sticker:
    An automobile following you way too closely.

    Bundled Out:
    Truck is loaded very full.

    Trucker CB Lingo C:

    Cabbage:
    A long steep incline in eastern Oregon. You smoked the brakes coming off of the Cabbage Mountain highway passage.

    Capital City:
    Raleigh, North Carolina.

    Cash Box-Cash Register:
    Usually a Toll booth on the highway or bridge.

    CDL:
    A Commercial Drivers License.

    Channel 9:
    Emergency Channel, If your lucky enough to actually find someone monitoring it.

    Channel 19:
    The official OTR truck driver CB channel.

    Chicken Coop:
    Weigh Station, State Department of Transportation run scales for measuring and inspecting trucks and drivers.

    Chicken Lights:
    Extra external lights on a truck & or trailer.

    City Kitty:
    A city Police officer or police patrol car.
    Combine:
    A tractor made by NaviStar International Trucks which used to be named International Harvester.

    Comedian:
    The middle of a divided highway called the median.
    Come on, back:
    Go ahead and transmit to me.

    Comic Book:
    A drivers log book or time keeping book required for all Over The Road commercial drivers. The record is frequently considered a joke or untrue.

    Coming At You:
    You have a bear coming towards you from the front.

    Container:
    What you call a 18 wheeler that is carrying ship cargo containers.

    Corn Flakes:
    A Consolidated Freightways truck driver.

    CottonPicker:
    A male bonding term for a friend or driving buddy.

    County Mountie:
    A County Sheriff or Deputy Law Enforcement Officer.

    Covered Wagon:
    A flat bed trailer with side kits, bows and tarp looking like a old time covered wagon.

    Cowtown:
    Fort Worth, Texas.

    Crotch Rocket:
    A fast motorcycle.

    Trucker CB Lingo D:

    Dead Head:
    To haul an empty trailer. You have to drive somewhere to get a load.

    Destruction:
    Road construction work.

    Detector Detector:
    An electronic device used by Revenue Patrols to locate illegal radar detectors in Big Trucks.

    Diesel Car:
    A "real" big truck.

    Diesel Cop:
    D.O.T. man, D.M.V. enforcement officer.

    Dispatcher Brains:
    Indicates the truck is empty. Or completely full of dispatcher brains.

    D.O.T.:
    Initials for the Department Of Transportation, Or a bear that works commercial vehicles

    Do What?:
    I did not copy-understand your last transmission, would you please repeat it again, Please?

    Double Nickel:
    Means 55 mph.

    Down Stroke:
    Means going down a hill or mountain.

    Dragon Fly:
    A truck without enough power, drag up hill, fly down hill

    Dragon Wagon:
    Large Tow Truck

    Driver:
    A person operating a tractor trailer or any other vehicle.

    Dry Box:
    A dry freight trailer.

    Duke City:
    Albuquerque,New Mexico.

    Trucker CB Lingo E:

    Eighty Fifth Street:
    Refers to Interstate 85.

    Eighteen Wheeler:
    A vehicle with at least 18 wheels on the ground Usually big trucks.

    Evil Knievel:
    A motorcycle police officer.

    Trucker CB Lingo F:

    Fire In The Wire:
    This means an amplified AM. CB radio transmission.

    Flip Flop:
    The return trip by a driver or A U-turn by a police officer.

    Foot Warmer:
    Refers to a linear amplifier for a CB Radio.

    Forty Two:
    I understand and I agree with your last transmission.

    Four Wheeler:
    Specifically a passenger car or pickup truck but basically anyone who is not a trucker

    FM:
    An am/fm stereo.

    FreightShaker:
    A FreightLiner big truck.

    Front door:
    In front of you or to the front,"I've got your front door covered".

    Full Grown-Blown Bear:
    A State Trooper that is working traffic and looking for a traffic Violator.

    Fuzz Buster:
    What the police call a Radar Detector.

    Trucker CB Lingo G:

    Garbage Hauler:
    A driver of a refrigerated tractor trailer hauling perishable produce.

    Git on:
    Entrance Ramp on the highway.

    Gearjammer-Gearslammer:
    A speeding truck driver, one known to accelerate/decelerate to quickly.

    General Mess of Crap:
    GMC trucks by made by Volvo-White.

    Georgia Overdrive:
    Neutral gear in the transmission.
    Gold City:
    Goldsboro, NorthCarolina.

    Good Neighbor:
    Same as driver or friend the person you are talking with on the CB.

    Go To The Harley:
    Put your CB radio on channel 1.

    Go To Double Harley:
    Put your CB radio on channel 11.

    Got Your Ears On?:
    Used when looking to check if someone has on their CB radio on.

    Gouge On It:
    Speed Up,Go faster.

    Grain Hauler:
    A truck and trailer built for hauling grain

    Granny Lane:
    The right or slow lane on any four lane road.

    Greasy Side Up:
    When a car or truck has flipped upside down.

    Green Stamps:
    Money spent at tolls.

    Ground Pressure:
    Weight. "The scale is checking ground pressure".

    Gumball Machine:
    Lights on top of any emergency vehicle.

    Trucker CB Lingo H:

    Hammer Lane:
    The fast or inside passing lane on any four lane roadway.

    Hammer Down:
    Go faster,speed up or step on it.

    Handle:
    Your username on the CB radio.

    Happy Happy:
    Means have a happy new year.

    Have Shutter Trouble:
    To fall asleep. to close eyelids.

    Hit The Jackpot:
    When police lights are flashing. "Looks like the police hit the jackpot."

    Home Twenty:
    Dwelling, The person who's talking about home or abode.

    Ho Chi Minh Trail:
    California Highway 152, which has heavy traffic and has lots of accidents.

    Hood:
    A conventional tractor, as opposed to a cab-over tractor.

    Hurricane Trucker:
    A Truck Driver who operates anywhere Hurricanes Hit.

    Trucker CB Lingo I:

    In The Big Hole:
    In top gear or high gear.

    Trucker CB Lingo J:

    Trucker CB Lingo K:

    Kenworthless:
    A Kenworth tractor truck.

    Key Down:
    When you try to power over someone that is transmitting on their CB radio.

    Kojak with a Kodak:
    A law enforcement officer with a radar gun.

    Trucker CB Lingo L:

    Land line:
    A fixed Telephone that uses wires as opposed to a wireless cell phone.

    Large Car:
    A big, fancy tractor truck.

    Left Coast:
    The West Coast of the U.S.A.

    Linear:
    A linear amplifier for a CB radio.

    Local or Local Information:
    Call for local information usually local directions to some place.

    Log Book:
    A time keeping book for trucker drivers-one of the things that usually gets looked at by a police officer when going through a D.O.T. inspection.

    LTL:
    Classification of general cargo carriers that specialize in transporting Less Than a Truck load of cargo freight.

    Trucker CB Lingo M:

    Mardi Gras:
    New Orleans, Louisiana.

    McStop:
    A McDonalds restaurant with big truck parking and clean restrooms

    Meat Wagon:
    An Ambulance.

    Merry Merry:
    Means Merry Christmas.

    Mission:
    A rush load.

    Modulator:
    A type of amplifier usually used for AM CB radio transmissions.

    Momma:
    Refers to a driver's wife,the mother of the speaker's children.

    Motion Lotion:
    Fuel for a vehicle.

    Moving On:
    Means you have quit jabbing at the brakes and are now driving normal.

    Mud Duck:
    A really weak-poor radio transmission signal.

    Trucker CB Lingo N:

    Ninety Fifth Street:
    Refers to Interstate 95.

    Nodamean:
    Means do you understand what I am saying?

    No Doubt:
    I agree with you.

    Trucker CB Lingo O:

    Oak City:
    Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

    Trucker CB Lingo P:

    Parking Lot:
    A truck carrying automobiles,or a traffic back-up.

    Peacemaker:
    Usually a Church touring Bus.

    Pickem Up Truck:
    A 4 or 6 wheeled pick up truck.

    Pickle Park:
    A rest area or roadside park, often a hangout for hookers or prostitutes male & female.

    Pig Hauler:
    A driver and or truck and trailer built for hauling livestock, specifically hogs.

    Plain White Wrapper:
    An unmarked police cruiser that is a white car because if it's was brown they would say a "Plain Brown Wrapper".

    Portable Scales:
    Means the D.O.T. has moveable scales setup somewhere other than a normal D.O.T. Weigh Station.

    Power Up:
    Go faster or step on it.

    Preeshaydit:
    Thank you.

    Pumpkin:
    Schneider company trucks. So named because of their bright orange color or the orange barrels a.k.a "Schneider Eggs" in a construction area.

    Radio:
    A Citizens Band Radio.

    Radio Check:
    A call to see if a radio is transmitting properly." Break one nine for a radio check".

    Rascal:
    Term identifying a person that is known by the person speaking.

    React:
    Nation wide group of volunteers who monitor channel 9 for emergency traffic calls.

    Readin' The Mail:
    Just listening to the CB radio.

    Reefer:
    A refrigerated produce trailer.

    Right?:
    What some truck drivers end almost every sentence with or a more commonly used "ROGER".

    Road Pizza:
    A badly mangled dead animal or road kill.

    Roger:
    Means "copy","yes" or "ok".

    Roller Skate:
    Any small car. Originally referred to a Volkswagen bug.

    Rolling on:
    Same as stepping on and moving on.

    Trucker CB Lingo S:

    Salt Shaker:
    A snow plow which usually salts the roadway.

    Sand Bagging:
    Listening in on a channel without talking.

    Sand Box:
    A gravel bucket or trailer.

    Schneider eggs:
    Orange barrels used by road construction crews to block off areas. They are the same color as Schneider company trucks.

    Scoot:
    A Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

    Sesame Street:
    CB channel 19. Named so because of child-like behavior that always occurs on the air.

    Seat Cover:
    Someone who is sitting in a vehicle seat, Usually a very pretty female.

    Shakey Side:
    The West Coast of the U.S.A.

    She Bear:
    A female police officer.

    Shootin'Skip:Usually means someone is on a side band channel using the atmosphere to carry their radio waves a very long distance.Shootin' You in the Back-Tail, Pipe-Gas tank, Rear End:
    Police operating radar usually on an on ramp or overpass as you drive past them.

    Short Short:
    A short amount of time.

    Side Piece:
    Also refers to a linear CB radio amplifier.

    Six Wheeler:
    Any vehicle with six wheels touching the ground.

    Skate Board:
    Usually a flatbed trailer.

    Skip:
    CB radio waves that tend to be reflected off of the atmosphere so that the transmission carries a long distance.

    Skins:
    Vehicle Tires.

    Slow Wheels In Fast Traffic:
    A name for SWIFT transportation company's vehicle.

    Small Rubber:
    Shorter or lower 22-inch tires.

    Smile:
    Comb your hair you are about to have your picture taken by a police radar or laser gun.

    Smokey or Smokey the Bear:
    A State Highway Patrol or Federal Revenue Patrol officer.

    Smoking Scooter:
    A police motorcycle.

    Speed Limit:
    The legal set speed limit of a road.

    Stagecoach:
    A large passenger touring bus.

    Stand On It:
    Means to accelerate with quickness.

    Stepping On:
    Means same as moving on, or rolling on.

    Sugar:
    A term meaning sweet, female or male.

    Sure Wish I had a Faster Truck:
    Refering to the "SWIFT" company trucks.

    Swamp Donkey:
    An animal called a moose.

    Swinging:
    Carrying a load of carcass beef that is hanging from the top of a trailer making the trailer very top heavy.

    Trucker CB Lingo T:

    Taking Pictures:
    The process of using radar or a laser gun to check and measure your vehicles speed.

    Ten-Four:
    Means "OK" or "YES"

    Ten-Twenty:
    A Location " My 10 - 20 is at mile marker 10".

    Ten-Thirty Three:
    Police Emergency usually an auto accident.

    Ten-Thirty Six:
    A request for the correct time.

    Thermos Bottle:
    A tanker trailer that carries liquid.

    TL:
    The Federal classification of a general commodity carrier that carries a full Truck Load of common cargo.

    Too Many Eggs in the Basket:
    Overweight vehicle.

    Toothpicks:
    Lumber or wood products.

    Travel Agent:
    A Dispatcher thats always trying to send you somewhere so the company can make money.

    Triple Digit Ride:
    A big truck that can exceed 99 mph.

    Turkey Day:
    Means Thanksgiving Day.

    Turn Signal:
    A light on a vehicle which indicates future direction of the vehicle's direction of movement.

    Trucker CB Lingo U:

    Up Stroke:
    A vehicle going up hill.

    Trucker CB Lingo V:

    VW:
    A tractor truck made by Volvo-White.

    Trucker CB Lingo W:

    Walked On Ya:
    Someone keyed up when you did and it made your transmission unintelligible.

    Waiting For You:
    A police officer who is parked and waiting for traffic to drive by so they can check for violators.

    Wallyworld:
    Means WalMart.

    West Coast Turnarounds:
    Uppers,Speed,Meth,Cocaine,Benzedrine pills or any medication to keep someone awake for long periods of time. So called because a trucker could take some and drive from the East Coast of the U.S. to the West Coast, and drive back east without stopping to get any sleep. A dispatchers favorite drug for their drivers so they can make the company and dispatcher more money at the risk of the driver and general publics lives.

    Whachyathink?:
    Means right or correct?

    Weighing Your Wagon:
    The D.O.T. Scales are open and checking your vehicle weight.

    Wiggle Wagons:
    A Truck pulling double or triple trailers using a converter dolly.

    Windy:
    The city of Chicago, Illinois.

    Trucker CB Lingo X:

    Trucker CB Lingo Y:

    Yard:
    Name for a driver's company location.

    Yardstick:
    A mile marker alongside any highway or freeway.

    YEEOOOWW BAAABBY!:
    When a woman is good looking and usually not wearing much clothing you will hear this phrase.

    Yonder:
    A certain direction indicated by the person speaking.

    Had you used the search feature on the forum you would have found a post already on this. And no people don't talk like this on the radio anymore besides the occasional bear reports

    Correction: One of the middle trucks in a "parade" since convoys are illegal. Front door is the lead truck and back door is the last truck.
