I've just completed CDL Truck driving school at a Sage accredited school in North Carolina. And I guess I'd just like some advice on what to do next. I've become overwhelmed with all the options that a CDL has brought infront of me. I know I'm starting at the bottom of the barrell and I'm alright with that, I just don't want to make a horrible decision and feel as though my time and money has been wasted, but I also don't expect the "perfect" job. I'm a little scared of OTR and Regional because I am a short, small framed female. Would it be best to look into local? How would I go about doing that? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
And also I'm having a hard time locating all my prior job history information as far as hire dates and seperation dates. I've contacted all my previous employers for the past 7 years and some were able to give me the information that I needed and others have changed owners being franchise type business' and others just won't call me back at all. Any other avenues I could take to get that information?
Thanks to whomever would like to help me out!

First: congratulations on passing and getting your plastic!
Second: Some, or many companies have a time frame to which they will accept you. Scour these boards for reviews on companies remembering that more complaints are posted as opposed to praise.

I've worked with 2 short, small framed women and they did just fine and as well as anyone else. This was with a food service company. Local jobs will be posted with Careerbuilder website. Check with "Martin Enterprises of the Carolinas Inc." It's a smaller trucking company with new equipment.
It can seem overwhelming in the beginning with a trucking career, but just be hard headed and go for it. You will do fine. -
Keep trying to find your past employment and hope you're writing it down.Far as a local driving job goes, good luck finding a company that'll train you. Here they require a yr otr.Just because you're a small female that should'nt let it interfere with going OTR.You may have no other choice.I'm a small frame female and i'll kick anybodys ### if they get in my way, lol.Seriously though OTR is not bad at all.
