I live in San Diego California and am lookin for a company that offers a California or western regional. They could be located in LA/Fontana as well. Big starter companies welcome as well. Just looking for a home weekly gig or even better every other day or every few days, touch freight is fine. Any info is greatly appreciate thanks.

If your just starting out it may be a little rough to get a every week or everyday home job. But its been done before. If you want to flatbed look into COTC. It can be hard work, but much more rewarding at the end of the day. I left COTC a few months ago for bigger pastures, but they were a good company.
Weeble Kneeble Thanks this. -
Thanks for the suggestions. What is COTC?

Last I heard, they do not take newbies nor do I anticipate they will. However the following does and I would shoot for the following:
Gordon Trucking
TWT (reefer/dry van)/System Transport (flatbed) (same parent company as TWT)
Schneider
Northern Refridgerated (have yet to hear anything bad on them)
Watkins Shepard
Knight/Squire
Prime Inc
Stevens
US Xpress
Swift
Central Refridgerated
Avoid CR England like the plague. As for schooling, go to a public community college or get a grant and pick a school of your choosing. Doing this will not force you to be obligated to a company for a couple years.

I.t.s logistics out of sparks,nv runs seven western and have a yard in riverside or Fontana. They do overnight freight, you like to drive nights?
-
Yeah TWT out of Spokane does west coast, has a yard in Bloomington, PLUS, does a lot of banana pick-ups in San Diego. AND, they take newbies !

Have my CDL for 10 yrs. Been driving bottom-dumps. Should be pretty rusty with a 53'. Anyone know of a company that may offer some type of "refresher course". I'm in Calif and would prefer 7 western maximum distance. HELP!!!
