Is backing up pup trailers really that hard?

I've pulled a few sets & trains in my illustrious career,. Take your time and don't over steer. You don't get the skills to back up combos overnight.

 

Correct. No difficult skills are learned overnight!
If you can quickly master a skill, then that is talent...

Either that, or the "skill" mastered, isn't much of a skill!

I never did "master" the "skill" of backing a set. Shoot, it was hard enough just backing the converter gear. If the goat was available, it had a pintle hitch on the front, which made maneuvering the gear much easier!

 

To be honest the sets that I backed up were Tanks at distribution centers and had 10-12 foot dolly tounges. A little easier than a freight set w/ a 4 foot dolly tounge.
