I Do think before I speak , I think you should take your own advice , a gun is for house and family protection and for hunting and for target practice , and for your work if it is required , if you have to walk around with a gun 24 hrs. a day on you , well then you are Nothing more then a phony tough guy , and a showoff looking to impress people....
-
You drank the koolaid.
For starters, none of us carry to feel tough, or to impress people. Why do I carry in public? How long does it take for an average response time? 15-20 minutes. You expect me to wait 15-30 minutes for police to show up while my wife is being raped or people are being shot at? Hell no. I may not be alive that long.AXE Thanks this. -
So I'm only allowed to protect my family when they are home? I'm not allowed to protect myself at work? I still can't understand how you make that distinction. As far as showing off and being phony, the whole concept behind carrying a concealed weapon is that it is CONCEALED. No one knows you are carrying it.daddy2twins, SGTSmokdU, Ghost Ryder and 5 others Thank this.

it's call CONCEALED carry for a reasonAXE and Ghost Ryder Thank this.

Well due to a new federal law they passed state to state permits carry over to almost all states but always make sure you check first because I have a seperate permit for Michigan and Illinois because I used to work construction out there and the permit didn't carry over in those two states.
-
I have to agree with ya on most points, I sill feel safe enough in this country that I don't need to carry a gun with me everywhere I go! Danged, if I want to go to a job where I have to carry a gun to feel safe. Had enough of that in the Military. Hopefully, we will never get to that point in this Country...union man Thanks this.

Hey I am all for it now cops don't need guns. Think of the money we will save in taxes if we do not have to supply firearms. NOT ....Better to have it and not need it,then to need it and not have it. I do not carry one at work because of company rules but I would feel much better in some of the places I have stayed if I had one. Do you think not carrying a gun makes you tuff? I would think it makes you stupid if you go against some thugs with baseball bats barehanded just saying. Just not to long ago a driver was beat with a baseball bat in Madison Ga truck stop, guess when it was all said and done he was a brave soul till the end....................grizzly Thanks this.

You might want to check your sources. There is no such federal law. There is NO permit that is valid in Illinois. Illinois is the only state left in the union that has no form of concealed carry. Try www.handgunlaw.us for good info.Busasamurai and AXE Thank this.

Laws vary from state to state, certain institutions and locations within each state vary.
If you're a company driver, policies vary by company.
You could be covered by HR 218 and still not be able to carry, concealed or otherwise.
In response to the original question, "It depends"roadlt Thanks this.
