I beg to differ. I pulled a pneumatic tanker for two years and never heard that term. With good reason. It sounds like a derogatory term that would get you punched in the mouth. Everybody I worked around called it "dust hauling". So if you hear somebody say they are a dust hauler it usually means they haul cement.

Around here, "dust hauler" means you haul kiln dust.

I've never heard "blower queen," but you can bet it would not be well-received.

not so much of terminology but a word of advice... I pump flammables (gas and diesel) yesterday on a 24hr shift all of a sudden a driver backing into a spot hit the brakes and all of a sudden it began to rain. got some on my arm it was clear skys, and took a sniff... that doesnt smell like water:biggrin_25523:long story short make sure your dome lids are closed and locked

If you punch in the wrong number of gallons at the loading rack, you can get a nice fountain effect out of the dome.

Must be an old rack/trailer... Rack will shut off (scully out) before you overfill a tanker...

I remember the good old days when all gas drivers carried a paper clip in their pocket to jump the system when the trailer wouldn't get a green light. Foil from gum or a cigarette pack worked too.

A 3" hose gasket under the Scully connector works to hold the connector so that all the contacts make contact. And a little gas on a "diaper rag" will clean the contacts, but if the rackmaster asks, you used a pencil eraser.

Not really. You screw up like I did and load 3200 gallons into a 1650 hole you'll shoot gasoline out the top before the overfill protection even kicks in. The gasoline is loading so fast at that point no protection is going to work.

Here's a tip I learned on the scully connection when you can't get a green light when you know you should. After so much use the connector itself will cover over with junk on the pins and not give you the connection you need. Use a little green scotch guard and clean the pins on both sides of the connector. You should get a green light then and if you don't it's time to change the worn out plug or use the creative cord hanging method.

That reminds me of the Gulf terminal in Oceanside, NY years ago. They had multiple bottom load pipes that you had product going in each compartment simultaneously. In and out in about 15 min. including pulling around to the office for the manifest.
