Hey flatt, thanks for the info. I got like 5 months till I get out of the Army. I have been lookin at Maverick's TCD and it seems like a good company to get my foot in the door. Once again thank you for that info!!!

Does anyone have any insight on why it is taking so long to get a spot for training? I was approved and accepted 3 weeks ago for TCD but keep being told there are no trainers or slots available?? Just wondering what is going on or if this is normal.

I really want to begin a career with Maverick but not sure how long I can keep following up on Mondays waiting on something where they can't predict a start date.

    Thanks for the info

That is correct, there is a shortage of TCD Trainers. They have even resorted to having some TCD recruits go out with Flatbed trainers (to do just driving-not flatbed work) recently. Hang in there! Trust me, it is worth waiting for a spot at Maverick!

Hey jxu how long has this been going on? Because when I get my CDL I can not afford to wait weeks without pay just to get approved. Also with the shortage, is it just the TCD?

The shortage of trainers is in the TCD division. If you choose flatbed, you should have no problems getting a trainer right away.

Yeah, last I heard we were down to only about 8 or 9 TCD trainers. So there's quite a waiting list. But it's worth it. And that has been going in for awhile, when I switched to TCD I had to wait 3 weeks for a trainer, but I had already been hired to I was making training pay during that wait.

Thanks for the info! So how long do you have to be a driver before you can be a trainer? Do you get paid additional for being a trainer? Just thinking about the future :biggrin_25525:
