It's generally single axle period. Depends on manufacturer rating of the axle. But you are allowed over 12k on steers. The reason they say 12 is the math of 34 on tandems, which only leaves 12 left over for steers, but if not over gross you can go heavier. People just think they can't.

I'm in marshfield for tonight.
-
Been hearing a lot of this talk here at mother ship.

Bayle is correct get the trailer weight fixed. If you are over 13,000 on your steers you might want to have the shop move the 5th wheel so it will put more weight on the drives when you get a load on. Just a thought because I was never that heavy on the steers even with a Prostar.

Good luck tomorrow with your test.

I've talked to a few people. They think cause of the brakes being set it was off. Going to re weigh in the am. I still don't know why we don't have sliding 5th wheels. Would make life much easier and more flexible.
On another note. Every night I run the AC/heat in the bunk for about 2-3 hours till I get a comfortable temperature. I usually have the radio going as well as my cpap machine plugged in. Only once has the auto start kicked on. And that was about 10 hours into the night (heat was on all night since it was when I was in marshfield and they had that crazy cold night). Now tonight 2 hours into my layover it just fired up. Odd it didn't last long. -
I'm ok with bringing people in for poor securement and accidents. Poor MPG could be due to a number of reasons, truck should be diagnosed first and the numbers should be run to make sure there aren't any other errors. There have been in the past and it wasn't taken very well when you'd point them out.Ultra7 Thanks this.

I knew they were up to something. My FM is such a terrible liar. Lol! I asked about it today on why they were pulling data daily. The response was they want everybody to see it daily and MPGs are important. Lol!

The tester told the driver he was going to go out on the road with him for a quick road test and the first half he was going to just observe, but the second half he was going to coach on ways to improve mpg's. He made it sound like flatbed division is getting killed by DOT and mpg's..
