I'm a puller with a crew out of NJ (Adesa/Manheim) and this thread has got me nervous as hell. Especially with haulers now requiring us to have our own insurance. Knock on wood I've never had damage issues but some of the claims you guys are talking about would put me out of business.

    ralphbohm and Pullin2 Thank this.

SPEEDLOADER said it right...CYA!! The claims we talk about are when hauling new stuff. The dealers know just how the game is played and use it to their advantage. A dealer with a body shop...fixing transport claims keeps the shop going, and they are allowed to charge the full hourly rate. Again, CYA make sure the delivery exceptions are covered!!

Not sure SL, but I'm thinking he might mean a Ram or Chevy "3500"? Just what I got out of it, 3500 vehicles damaged and I would suspect a whole new crew next time you went there!

Big Don and Speedloader Thank this.

Yeah, I kinda thought so ...... 3500 damages is like 12 trains or 2 boats ..... 3500 rail damages, jeez, that'd make CNN !

Yea a few of the Ram 3500's are damaged to where they will be a loss id like to have a few of them but they would rather crush it then let someone get use out of it :)

Yep - sign o' the times ... depending on the severity of the damage and the location, liability wise, they may opt to crush rather then auction with a salvage title.

I've seen GM and Chev key fobs with the emblems picked off them lately. I've also noticed Mitso's (RVR's and Lancer) missing alot of antennas.

    Speedloader Thanks this.

Yall say they crush them??? We have been hauling some totals out of a Rail Yard going to an Auto Salvage Yard 400 miles away. I really bet they are not being crushed.
