My scorecard didn't update til the end of the week. Sitting at 105 pts right now
-
updated daily, and you have to be in your own truck for a full quarter to determine your own PFP. Time in the trainer truck (if any) counts for/against your trainer's stats.

I found something interesting on the score card. The way your "points" are figured is by percentage of your goal. Simply divide the actual number by the goal number (this is percent of your goal) then multiply this number by the percentage it represents in your score or what I'll call weight.
So as an example if your goal MPG is 7.15 and weighted as 50% you will figure your actual like this (in this example I'll use 7.3 mpg)
7.3 ~ 7.15 = 1.02 or 102% of goal
Now take 1.02 x 50 = 51 and this is what you will see on your score card.
This formula works for all categories EXCEPT OOR. My OOR goal is 10% and weighted at 3. Currently my actual number is less than 5% or double the goal. So double the weight (3) would mean I should expect over 6 on my score card, right? Well I'm only getting 3.4. So what the heck? I called my FM and she's "looking into it" I think I know what they did but I'll wait for their explanation.
Anybody have the answer? Anybody? -
did I stumble in on a conversation on the Big Bang theory or what. Just an old truck driver here. This is how I think about it. I drive my truck as efficiently as I know how. That goes for miles and MPG. I do not look at my scorecard. I see no need to because there is nothing that I can improve on. If I could be doing something better I would already be doing it.
The only thing that I can improve on is miles per day. But that would take away days at home. And a bigger bonus check is not worth being gone from home or taking less vacation time.
the first week of this quarter I was on vacation. Talk about killing miles per day average that will do it. Then run one week then take truck to Freightliner for four days. I think my average daily miles at the end of the first month were like 266. But they are going up and what I get is what I get at the end of the quarter.
even with me taking all my vacation time that I do. I will still make more money on the new bonus plan.
Now that's just me. If you can improve the way you operate to achieve a higher bonus . Then by all means do such.Blind Dog, jxu417 and plentygood Thank this. -
As always "His Beardness" hit's the proverbial nail on the head!

too late you already are one .
People don't take it wrong to me a company suck is one of your best top achieving employees. I have been called a company suck my whole life.seawheeler Thanks this. -
The issue here is Maverick's PFP program is in it's "buy-in" stage. Maverick has spent a ton of time and money developing and implementing this system. Why? Simple, increased profits and driver satisfaction (directly correlated to turn over $$). But neither of these goals will be met if the drivers don't buy-in.
I'm amazed talking with other drivers that have no idea how the system works or worse yet don't care. I've spent a fair amount of time trying to learn and/or understand the system and I'm still confused. But being the company suck that I am I've chose to participate fully. This includes giving feed back when needed.
Is this system perfect, heck no. For example if Maverick wants to be about customer service don't you think on time deliveries would be part of the criteria for achieving your bonus? Or what about the subjective categories such as clean truck and maroon marauder. This gives conspiracy theorist all the room they need to work in the "good ol' boy network" excuse.
The fact that a an old pro such as Sewerman isn't engaging in the program suggests one of two things. Either Maverick totally missed the mark on this one or he is fully motivated and doing an excellent job already. For the rest of us I think it's great to have a yardstick to measure our performance and set our goals.
If you don't understand the system you are working in your success is doubtful. Learn the system, improve the system, work the system.
Drive smarter not harder.

I am very engaged into the program. I have filled out many surveys over the last two years for maverick. As they were trying to figure out the new program. Job performance is calculated in the the system.
Maybe I came off a little bit wrong. I do believe every driver should do everything they can to improve their performance. With this system you can look and say I need to improve here or there.
It is just that I have been doing this for so many years. And with my personality I am always looking for ways to improve my performance. Not trying to brag but to explain my comments. I have been number one in mpg for the company. I have been number one in my fleet for miles. Have also been number one in my fleet for lowest oor.
So that is why I say I don't look at my scorecard. It's not that I don't care it's because I know that I work at peak efficiency.
I am not perfect far from it. I still try to find things today that would make me a better driver. Every now and again I do find a better way. They are just fewer and farther between.
It is very hard to be number one. As long as I'm in the top 10% I'll be a happy camper.
maverick has quite a few drivers that out perform me. And that's fine with me. Long as I'm in the top 10% I'm happyseawheeler, Blind Dog and jxu417 Thank this. -
Maverick wants more drivers to be like you Sewerman. So the new system is designed to make you want to be more like you, LOL.
sewerman Thanks this.
