Well, at the end of the day, were these the only 2 items that you needed? I mean the insurance and the one trip permit. I may have to do the same thing in the near future, and was wondering if there is anything you wished you had done differently. Were you comfortable driving back, or did you have to use the back roads?

Hmmm.. lets see. Was it all I needed? Well... I didn't get in any trouble. TX told me it was a legal permit and it was all I needed but I id it in such a hurry I never did get ahold of any other states to ask them. I did have a FL scale leave me sitting on the scale a LONG time and I really started to get worried. But they let me go. I did go around a few scales but it was mostly because two of the tires on the truck were bald and the rest wern't too far away from that.
Would I do anything different? yup, I wouldn't try to go pick up a truck 950 miles away that I had NO idea of the condition, with only enough money to may name to pay for fuel and then only if it got as good of fuel milage as I was hoping. In the end it did better than I expected on fuel and it didn't cost me anything other than having to buy a cheap cb antenna and a year off my life from stress over worring if it was going to break down and how I'd pay for it if it did.

Thats a nice truck Medicineman. Is it almost ready for the road? I know some flatbed companies you could work for if you don't mind getting dirty.

I don't know if I want to my work from the prince of darkness:smt077

seriously though. It's getting close. I'm of cash though so I may have to take a job for a bit to replenish the ol bank account.
I'm really looking for something that will let me run on my schedual though, which is more of a part time basis. My wife makes enough for all our needs, she wants me to just take some bs job in town but I love driving trucks, don't think I could work at the local NAPA for too long.

    Medicine man,

You will find something around town. Hope to see that Pete all fixed up in the future.

oh it will get fixed up. I can't NOT tinker with everything I own. I want to get it on with landstar since that would allow me to take the time off I want to without having to listen to anyone whine about me being home too much.

If I can't get on with them (it's been like a month and they are STILL trying to get info from past employers) then I'll probably look at putting it on hauling flatbed, chips or something locally.

I was talkign with a guy who sells polyurathan bushings. I need all the hood bushings and while talking to him I found out he has like a half dozen 359's and little window 359's sitting around. He just put a Pete low air suspension on his 359 so for buying my bushings from him (for a good price) he is giving me a bunch of other parts from his old trucks that I need, including air bags which I need bad. I just have to pay the shipping
    Talk about lucking out!!

Yeah free parts are always good. Shame there isn't a truck salvage yard near you. Did you ever get the dogs for the fontaine slider tightened up?
