steer tire wear

your problem is in rear axle alignment...

 

I have a 3-axle alignment scheduled for next week for the same wear.

 

I would say king pins.

 

I'd almost lean that way, but suggest both really. A good 3-axle is just as critical. In my case, I just had mine done 55,000 miles ago and showing similar wear now.

 

what kind of truck ?

 

More than likely a 3 axle alignment is needed. As MN said, if the funds allow have the king pins checked / replaced as well.

 

Double check the fasteners on your spring hangers too.

Crazier things have been seen.

 

a 53' dry box that i pull from time to time but did pull fulltime was out of alignment and caused that type wear on my steers.it was gone thru and aligned and the premature wear was eliminated on truck and trl.the wear was passenger side mainly but was working on the driver's side steer.

it makes sense as a trl that dog legs or just out of alignment,will push the truck in a skewed fashion.i may get some argument here but the trl now pulls so smoothly(it is loaded up w/all the lightweight goodies and is superb for a dry box) and the wear on all 5 axles is normal or was up until i started pulling dumps.

i am concerned regarding the spread axle frameless dump i'm pulling.time to have it all checked out as i have read plenty of negative stuff regarding the alignment issues on spreads.
