From Day One - Abilene Motor Express (Richmond, Wytheville, VA)

Well we got loaded fairly quickly out in California and had a uneventful ride back to Virginia. We are sitting at the Lee Hi relaxing after a great steak dinner. We have a 0845 appt in Gordonsville in the morning. Be safe!

 

Love that little truck stop. They have great food. So glad they didn't sell the restaurant to TA when they sold the fuel and repair shop.

 

Got empty at Wal Mart and dheaded to the yard to drop Shawn off. Went in to see dispatch to get a load to the house. They offered me a cannon load delivering in Norcross, Ga. Mid morning Monday. I got to the house about 1130 tonight and will head out early Monday morning. Be safe!

 

Believe me Jason, I do work at Abilene, really. Maybe next week we'll cross paths and finally shake hands. I'll be home in a few hours myself. Enjoy your weekend, talk soon.

 

Came off my home time with a decent load. Got about 50 miles down I95, and the truck did a critical engine fault and cut off. Scared the crap out of me!!!! Barely got off the road. Called breakdown and we reset the batteries and did the key 7 times. Then all was okay. Got a few more miles down the road and the AC quit for a while. Guess the switch for the fan is going bad. Kept moving, though. Need lots of miles to make up for last week!
Never figured out why the truck did what it did. I mean, it was just in the shop at the yard for 4 days. Oh, wait. I think I answered my own question.

Got my load departing out Monday got a HP load heading up to Southbury, CT plan is to leave bout 8a that way will be park @ destination stop&shop by rush hour then unload later that night.

 

Left the house early Monday morning and delivered in Ga. about 0900. After a little confusion, I was given a load that was 240 miles away and they quit shipping at 1630 and it was already 1300. There was no way I was going to make it so I called the customer and told them I would be there first thing this morning. I was loaded and rolling out of there gate by 0830 this morning headed back to Colonial Heights, Va. for a drop and hook. I dropped there about 1700 this evening and came over to the yard to see dispatch and pick Shawn up.

Well freight sucks tonight..... no team freight and only short loads going to Pa. for tomorrow morning. So we're at the yard waiting for this Sabra load to get loaded. Be safe!

 

Delivered to Publix in Deerfield Beach FL Sunday afternoon. No load, so ran back up to the rest area at xit 106 for the night. Finally got a load out of Belle Glade at 11 am Monday. Got to shipper for a load of fresh picked corn delivering to Giant in Jessup MD Tuesday 8 am. Not gonna happen. Anyway...waited from 1300 to 1930 to get loaded. Then had to get a pallet taken off because next I had to go get ice & I would be overgross. So, did that & headed down the street for ice. Got there at 2030, along with about a million other trucks. Finally got out of there at 2230 with just enough time to get back to the rest area. Oh, and it rained so hard and was ljghtening so bad it would blind you for a few seconds most of the way. Average speed.....50 mph. Was so happy to hit the bunk that night. Still don't know when my rescheduled appt is. I should be at the consignee this afternoon around 1700, provided traffic up there cooperates.

 

And I thought my Monday sucked. Have a safe ride to Maryland.
