Yea, I have been in the industry for a little over a year, but people assume that you have never drove until you came to prime or wherever. I have tons of hours driving military vehicles through snow, ice, rain, the USSR, east germany, mud, as well as other driving. My point was not to corner me as some noob that has no experience in the world to do the job or to train others to do it.
Ah, sorry... chuck just decided to target me for harassment. He got bored with the others I guess....... -
Yeah I don't know where I got that idea...
It only say "1 year" under your name... Duh! -
JDSouza is closer to correct.
Whoever "briefed" you doesn't know how to read the paychart. They read the third column which is the individual taxable rate. You are off by .05 per driver because .05 is the per diem rate for a team driver.
You don't have to believe me but my wallet certainly does when I say that the team bonus is not included in that rate.
Co. Driver Pay level is determined by miles dispatched. Training, team, solo... The all add up.
solo I make .40/mile. Training I make the matching team rate at that level, MINUS the trainees base rate. That means I make .46/mile minus .12 which is .34 for all team miles. That is reflected on my statement as .29/mile base and .05 per diem.
On top of that I get .10 for every mile over 3500. There's still the fuel bonus.
chart reads like this: milage mark, solo rate, solo taxable, team rate, team individual taxable. -
As a lease op instructor and trainer i can say that after i believe my trainee is ready to upgrade to his or her own truck i have them run my truck solo for at least one week. They are paid 24 cents a mile when they are solo. We then run again as team at the 12 cents. I do not take a person past were they are ready for his own truck as they prove by running my expesive truck.

What gets me here is the apparent unwillingness of PSD instructors to take on a female student. Of the 11 people waiting for PSD instructors, 6 are female. Both students waiting from LAST week are female.
Yep, one of those two from last week is me. -
Well... wives have something to do with it.
jomar68 Thanks this. -
I've met a couple of female trainer/instructors and they said they don't take females as they are too much trouble.

Hope things get better for you soon. -
As a former commander of three different US Army transportation units, my military drivers drove trucks through places no wheeled vehicle should be, including half way underwater.. it was so bad that at times I was afraid to look. My NCO would just say "Sir, don't look until I tell you to". lolreniffk and silenteagle Thank this.
