    Logs

Don't feel bad or get all down here now. It's just a fellow trucker venting off about the endless guberment regulations and all the bs it entails.

I've always seen you log checkers in safety, as a position basicaly mandated by the guberment, to fix and help correct bad logings. Most of us here know how to legaly make out a log, but at times we still goof and make an error. You guys help point it out. You aint the bad guys, the lawmakers and their endless "solutions" are. I doubt you can teach me much, but I'm certainly open the the notion that you can or could in the future.

I'd like to think that if you post something on the 'net that might save me an infraction down the road, or something else relevent to saving me a hassle, then all the better.

As for you missing out on "stopping at the beach" when ya want as an OTR driver.....well, thanks for the chuckle LOL. It aint that easy, but I get your point LOL

I'll be the first to say that I'm glad the FMCSA audits you guys in safety, instead of them coming to our house to do us as individuals. That might/would suck.

Logs, you ought to start a thread on the audits and what they entail. Would be interesting to know just how the guberment FMCSA auditors operate in house, and especially who decides what the fines will be, as well as all of the little idiocincracies involved in said audit.

I'm sure the auditors are initialy met monday morning with fresh coffee and donuts at their disposal, but take us from there. Start a new thread.

I am not sure if you noticed a previous post I made about having to terminate drivers due to logs prior to Christmas and how bummed I felt because they wouldn't listen to me.

You should be. Did you also fire the dispatcher.
nOpe or the load planners nope.
You could of waited till after christmas.

First we have fired dispatchers for letting drivers run illegal & most it's usually the driver doing the running illegal and the dispatcher catching them or my auditors. Trust me I wanted to wait until after Christmas but well they got there before and waiting to run hot more is not good for the company

So yeah them letters I agree read them if you want and trash them if you want, I really don't care. What will happen at my company is I will call you when you are having issues and you will be put on a Corrective Action and don't scan your logs and you will sit until you do!
I dont scan nothin if i forget to send them in they remind me and their sent. You will sit ha do you pay people for that i doubt it cuz we would have a mexican standoff . did it occur to you that your company hasnt given them a break long enough to send them in.

Yeah I remind mine to and if they don't do it (like some slackers out there they get shut down and they make no money and either do we so hmm that's called the red list they are on after their warning if they don't get it, sorry it's pretty simple scan in your logs and stay off that red listOur driver have PLENTY of places to scan their trips so it would not hurt to put the log with it, would it?

And since you are being pretty harsh I must say "you knew the job was dangerous when you took it". I complain about my job just like you and wish I could be you sometimes. The freedom of no one over my shoulder, smoking my cigarrette when I want. Stopping at the beach if I want, umm not to mention the other oppurtunities drivers have that I never will probably in my life experience.
What imaginary world is that i dont complain about nothin except low wages and long hours i just tell it like it is and i see it

Wow we are both complaining of the same thing and wow I have to teach all day and be a counselor

My concern is for the drivers and you want to bash me
    waaaaaaaaa the truth hurts
Sounds like one of the drivers we just let go that everyone else was to blame for the problems , but didn't realize he was causing his own problems.
Once again i have not blamed anybody im just calling it the way i know it to be.

I have helped many drivers understand the regulations after years of losing money they could of had and have been very gratefull and I never had a driver that I termed to say you did your job you tried to get me to understand them and I just need to try harder.
Great teaching them how to bend the rules

No taught many they don't have to take a restart to have hours available and taught drivers not to subtract todays hours out of their 70 hour recap for tomorrow. Long story. Taught drivers you can log that meal break off duty instead of on-duty (well at our company you can)

Now go to some other company and maybe they don't react on what they say. WE DO! So hopefully you don't ever driver one of our piecees of #### trucks one day
True Fact I did i called you to bad so sad didnt pay enough lololololololol
Thats a guarentee i wont drive your trucks ever.
Go get some cheap labor to drive your trucks

Well I don't care who drives our truck as long as they log legal, drive the truck and have a good attitude :)

Also we demand can you pick it up on time? (Y OR N) can you deliver on time (Y or N) Yes I can pick up on time but no I can't deliver on time. Why can't you. I couldn't get there until 10:00 pm instead of 8:00 pm. Ok let me see if I can adjust that time. Yes we can move it to 12:00 am instead. Hmmm sounds simple to me. Now do you lose a load if you can't do it legally sometimes, yeap! Guess what you may never know if you "would" of been in an accident running illegal and BE GLAD you would never know.

Yeah right go work in dispatch go c how it really works force dispatch is forced dispatch drivers dont turn down frieght.
Hmm you have hours to run .late ok lets take your bonus away please
    Lame risk liability policy.

Our forced dispatch is only if you can do it legally is it forced and we also allow drivers to say upfront they can not run to Canada as before we forced it.

Sorry you have such a bad attitude towards us office people
First off I dont fact is iv talked to my dispacther on the phone once or twice in 8 months i like my dispatchers and office people they do their job well i might add
I am glad you found your happy home, and if you come to my company by all means come say hi and we can laugh about this together :).

, I hope I never went out of my way to help you like I do daily for drivers
Another guarntee i learned by reading
    I don't get this comment

Bash me I bash back, but a tad nicer
Hey I only said i was sorry cuz i sounded mean
Im just bein real you can too be real cuz every exp driver on this ####### board knows how the real deal works if they dont they dont make it.

Many do and many understand where I am coming from and we kind of understand each other on this board so I just fit in:biggrin_25519:

Lets not quote this again and only reply :)

Now if anyone is an owner op, they will come to your door:biggrin_25521:

Also DOT can mail you a letter saying "we audit so and so and found you to be in violation on this day for this reason"You need to pay a fine of 1,000.
Haven't seen it happen yet, but I hear they can. I am sure it would not be pleasantly to open that letter.
For the most part I am on pins and needles but they are people doing their jobs to and I give them what they need and deal with the rest. Well get donuts for grumpy (inside joke)
