What's your weekly pay looking like after taxes? And how's the wait on trucks?

    Call and ask a recruiter:

What the starting rate is? (to be safe times it by 2750 average weekly miles)
What the weekly cost of insurance is? (minus that amount)
U.S. tax rate and Social Security is -.335 (33.5%) Most of which you will be refunded for your deductions at the end of the year.
Then if your state has income tax you have to find out what that rate is and subtract that as well.

If the are other company deductions then you have to figure them in too, like 401k or some other benefit.

DO NOT ASK A RECRUITER WHAT THE average DRIVER MAKES CAUSE 99 TIMES OUT OF 100 IT WILL BE A LIE!

Just figure it out for yourself.

I'm going to say about 600-700 a week. That's with no 401k. Starting at .30 a mile. That sound about right?
