At least you're getting free subway. I had that for supper tonight. 6 inch buffalo chicken with extra cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, onions, salt and pepper, with a ranch. Had a sack of Funyuns on the side. Cost me right at 7 bucks. So enjoy the free stuff!

I am guessing they have good numbers as far as miles, MPG and low OOR. Other than that, yes they have built a new terminal for Reno. Port of call means they are adding a Port division. Knight is expanding this division by leaps and bounds. It wasn't my thing. OTR was good as long as you get along with your dispatcher. Good luck in your new adventure.

Well they haven't built anything yet, they are looking at buildings.
day two, took safety tests, watched a pretty interesting movie on the science of sleep, had super burrito, took my drive test which was rough and also took a physical.
My visit to the doctor of knights choice was less than desireable, the doctor what a weirdo.
but hey, at least I got a free medical card for two years, even though I just bought one to go to school. And knight will supply the medical cards as long as I am there which I thought was pretty cool.
Also met a few squire trainers and current students, real cool dudes all young guys, which surprised me. One trainer was actually polishing his wheels, on a company truck! He is known for having the cleanest truck and they say you can eat off his floor lol.
overall, the attitude and vibe is young, go getter types which sounds awesome, everyone high fives and feels like a small company.Jakaby Thanks this. -
Day three,
man does it feel good to be done!
today was fun, we drove around in a mini van studying smith systems and that's it.
waiting to here from my driver development manager and says I should have a seat by Sunday or Monday.drozzer69 Thanks this. -
I ate a burrito from one of the roach coach's in Laredo the other day. I'm still trying to get it all out of my system. I don't think mine was very "super" to say the least.
Sounds like you are progressing nicely. Most doctors are weirdos anyway. They give you a prostate exam to tell you that you need to lose weight? They had to go up there to tell me that? -
Alright folks its the moment of truth! I Am leaving at 8:30 in the morning, don't where I'm going, but my trainer seems like a hell of a guy. I'm nervous, excited, and ready to roll.

Hey y'all! So much to update!
i left the Saturday of my last post with a trainer from Tulare, and by now I have a #### good feel for the trucker lifestyle.
my trainer and I drove to Boise then back to Fallon then up the i5 up to woodland, Washington. Spent a few days in Tacoma, Lacey, area. Finally got a good run down to El Paso with a load of paper from simpson paper out of tacoma, and by that time my trainer and I had enough of each other so I had requested a new trainer, which brings me to where I am now!
i am currently in Salt Lake City at the comfort in for the second night, very nice hotel by the way!
my new trainer is out of salt lake but we've been waiting for a b maintenance for three days. And found an exhaust leak from the manifold which is of course warranty work and that's going to take a few days.
as you all know the trucker lifestyle is not what I had pictured, at least not right now as I'm with a trainer in a Volvo, it's a little cramped, I shower every chance I get, my last trainer used to give me grief for it who cares he'd go 4 days without a shower and he smelled horrible. I requested a new trainer due to the fact we'd run 15 hours everyday, we made Tacoma to El Paso in 2 days, he'd run 5 and the rest was me while he was off duty, and we'd argue about it everyday.
Something I've learned just from watching truckers is that majority are people in going through rough times and some are the nicest people I've met and some just keep to themselves. Me I'm young so I talk to everyone I ican and soak up as much info I can and some guys I talk to are just grumpy, and complain a lot.
im not sure where I'm going with this post but I hope you enjoy my updates and I will every chance I get.
drivers be safe, check your trucks, I've seen some gnarly wrecks, and take it easy on us new guys!
