If you wish to operate under your own authority, set up a brokerage agreement and pull prime trailers. You got Wil trans, Certified express and others doing this...
-
I was considering doing just that until I.P. posted some of his stats.
I would rather bring my own tractor to prime and run under there authority if allowed.
alleviate myself from the paper work and liability that goes along with the authority.
isn't will trans part of prime? -
I will say that Primes leasing program is a decent leasing program. I leased a truck for them for a couple months, and only left because I got a chance to go back to hauling heavy equipment and cars. I made money every week, and was asked not to leave by my fm. He was surprised because I was leaving because I was making decent money for my business. I would definetly consider leasing there again.

I talked to a few guys here who do exactly that. Prime doesn't care if you get your truck from Success, your local dealer, or from some guy on Ebay. You can lease back to Prime and operate under their authority. Give Success Leasing a call; they can give you the specifics. (Success handles the tractor related logistics for Prime.)
Nope. Wil-Trans is an independent company that pulls Prime trailers. -
It's 73% on the logistics side. You can lease back to Prime or run with your own authority pulling Prime trailers.
There are limitations to what you can do, and you'd best talk to leasing before planning on bringing a tractor with. 240" wheelbase max, and must be no more than 2 model-years old. That means this being 2013, it must be a 2011 or newer... unless you purchase from Success Leasing... or whatever they're calling the used truck outfit these days. Then there's the usual battery of inspections that must be passed in the company shops. I think that's most of it... it's been a couple of years since I looked at the paperwork on it.
Will-Trans is an independent company that leases out to Prime. Their requirements for your truck are less restrictive than Prime's. -
Success Leasing is the leasing , PEDIGREE is the truck sales side that sells off the PRIME equipment , my oldest son buys from them

Does Prime have regional or dedicated lanes for the Lease ops?
-
It's something you have to work out with your FM, especially in the case of a regional deal. Dedicated lanes come up in the course of business, and expressing an interest in something like that to your FM is the way to go... being in the right place at the right time. Plan on OTR 48 to start with.

Got it.
I live Kingman Az. That seems like a good lane for Prime. How often do you hit the southwest (I-40)?
