School in Georgia????

If you are willing to spend more time at school, look for a technical college in GA. And if you are a GA resident apply to Hope Grant, it will cost you one hundred dollars for the training, books, DOT physical, everything.

 

go talk to the instructors at both schools and look at equipment qaulity. things like age of tractor, trailer type, and if theyre loaded or empty. also look at the in truck student to teacher ratio. I learned on a 98 century with 3 other students in the truck pulling a light loaded dry van. 4 week course 8 hours a day. i dont think i could have found better training.

 

Does it have to be a school? Why don't you go to a good training company? Roehl Transport offers training. It used to be in Ellenwood, GA. I was told they don't force you to sign any contract, not sure though. But worth checking.

 

You find out and let me know. This is what I heard from a Roehl instructor: that you are free to leave any time you want and will not owe them anything. I found it hard to believe, there must be a catch. Their training used to be in Ellenwood, unfortunately not any more… However, consider that a good training company will train you well, when schools will want you in and out in a hurry, just to collect their money. Schools will train you just to pass the CDL and not to deal with real world situations.

 

of the two schools you mentioned, make sure you check out the equipment they use to train you on. that says alot about a company. there is another one down in conley off of forest park road down the street from BAH express. Check into Roehl before you make any descion though.
