Yep, know what you mean. We service a number of DCs over towards Phoenix, and there is produce out of Nogales. Our terminal in Salt Lake is a major transshipment point for the western region, and there is plenty of freight moving out along the west coast. The longer distances out that way just don't lend themselves to keeping fuel costs low, and of course most days you don't want to be caught dead buying fuel in California.

I couldn't begin to tell you where a new lightweight would come in at. However, unless you're talking about a flatbed or tanker which involves extra equipment, almost all of the leases are based on a 3-year term. If one was going to put their company truck into a lease, the truck payment would be prorated based on what was left of the 3-year period. The best thing would be to contact leasing, and ask them about it.
