So much for Vera's career as a truck driver!
That is funny though, a 25 yr old instructor and he didn't even see the car as well.
If it were my classic car that were crushed, I'd be crushing some skulls! -
I am willing to bet the instructer wasnt even up front--prolly was sleeping if the truth be known. If you can see cars around you--i would sure hate to be on the highway with them.

He needs to get over it. It was a Valiant!! A Valiant may be old, but it will never be a classic!!
by the way, the ame common sense rule that we use in parking trucks applies to cars. never park on the very end of the row. -
thats what i was thinking as i was reading this. i have a feeling she will say this to save her cdl and ability to drive a truck. -
By the way, if you consider the dynamics of making a U turn, you will find that the story of the Werner driver doesn't hold up. Since we can make a relatively safe assumption that the car was on the inside of their turn as they ran over it, then it was impossible for her not to have seen it. Anyone here ever make a turn and not be able to see what is on the inside of the turn? I never have.
A definite case of the driver not paying attention to the trailer cutting a shorter circle than the truck, but I don't buy that the car wasn't seen. Could it be driver inexperience? Possibly, and if so, then that falls back onto the trainer allowing a trainee into a situation beyond their capabilities. -
Werner + Trainer + Student = accident looking for place to happen.
Check out a few auctions
You would be VERY surprised to see what brings the big bucks out.

Right NOW, I am looking for a 1963 Impala 4-door, 6 cyclinder, 3-speed on column, with or without a/c...but none of the 4 above.

I can say i have seen some interesting incidents with werner trucks a few times.. Feel bad for the poor drivers! Thats truck driving for you!
-
LOl, of course the intructor didn't see it, he (and his 6 months of experience) were in the sleeper.

That sucks, but I don't see an issue with the age. I know alot of guys that started driving log trucks at 18, (sometimes 16 though illegally). So he very well could fit into that category, and have 7-9 years under his belt. I doubt it though, but it's possible.
