I went into the shop to get my cab front cab mounts replaced. When I got the truck back the passenger side had some damage. It was creased / dented at the top and bottom corner of the passenger side door frame. The shop as of right now is denying any involvement to this damage. Is it possible when they jacked the cab up to replace the mounts the cab tweaked causing the damage? Attached are some pictures any thoughts?

The bottom dent was worse. I pulled it back out and used a rubber mallet to straighten it out the best I could.

If the mechanic was a ####### it is very possible he did not place the jack right and bent the cab I've seen it a few times on freightliner and a million times on volvo same happens even when they change air bags
olpa77 Thanks this. -
If your rear cab air bags over inflate can that cause this damage too?
-
I seriously doubt it. Try raising them all the way and see.
I use a block of wood and a high lift jack to replace sleeper airbags, never hurt anything that way.

I've lifted the hell out of the cab doing trannys and cab mount work as well as bags I've never had as much as a dent or crease anywhere in the cab. I'm thinking they tried lifting the cab with the jack without taking the bolt off for the mounts and that happened or they did not place the jack in the proper place check underneath the cab if they didn't lift it up at the right place u should have a good dent underneath.

Well it seems they are sticking to their guns with denying the damage. I'm not sure what to do about it. It really has me fired up because last month I had $8500 of body work done to it. Now this crap. I guess I will have to consult a law firm to inquire if I have a legal case against the repair shop.
I am 100% positive the damage was done there. I think just about every owner operator on the road knows where every scratch and dint is on their rigs. The just don't appear out of thin air. -
They wouldn't have lifted the cab from overhead with a crane and strap would they? Imagine a strap run through the cab pulling up and back to tilt the cab. Have they showed you exactly how they lifted it. I suppose with the talk of lawyers, they are done answering questions at this point.

I hope you took pictures before you repaired it. If not I guess all you can do is get ins/lawyers involved. That looks like one of those repairs that they will try to poo poo and blow you off because they know it'll turn into a major PITA to fix right. I had a shop bend a fairing extension and luckily I noticed it and the manager was there to to see it while everything was still fresh. It still took a while but eventually they fixed it properly. Good luck and don't give up. They have shop ins for a reason!

I just had the truck back to the shop the other day. I left the dash cam running this this time. I have some very interesting conversations on tape that will help me prove my point. Just for craps I took a box cut out 2 doors, stapled 3 corners to a block and lifted the unstapled side and the box bent right where the damage is. Proof enough for me!
Oh also they were making fun of me for driving an 18 year old truck over the road. What's the big deal I maintain it well. Does anyone else on here drive an old truck for a living or am I the only one?
Last year I spent $32,000 at this shop. I guess they have lost my business!Wajid8705 Thanks this. -
Thanks special K I don't plan on giving up.
