A town I used to live in installed a photo light. A gal I worked with was a busy body and was involved city affairs and council meetings etc. She was present when the company that was peddling the equipment explained how the yellow could be shortened and how much new revenue could be collected for each fraction of a second was shaved off the yellow light.

It is true here the yellow lights are very fast, so if you are rolling and see a yellow 50 yards out and cant stop you will get the big bright flash in your eyes.,also the town i live in had three intersections with cameras and it did nothing for the safety ,once they realized that and were not making money off of redflix or who ever owned them , the city removed the cameras. One of my friends wife got a photo ticket in the mail and you could see the OH F@&K look on her face lol

One city shortened the yellow by 1 second and increased the annual revenue by millions per year. Don't know for sure if it's true, but I read where many just throw the tickets away in some states, because they can't be enforced unless actually witnessed by a cop. That's something to research.

Company got one from Florida--few weeks back--but both images were from side and rear--couldn't tell WHO was driving truck--BUT clearly showed truck behind line with light red--then truck in intersection when red--with rear close--up enclosed of TRAILER TAG#--fine issued to company--not driver--no points or moving violation...
Don't know ifn--all are like this--fine issued through 3d party administrator of some sort in AZ--incident was in Haines City Fl on US27--don't know how it would work w/big carrier---with lots of trucks--mite require a little more investigating--but round here--we pull same wagon--so NO hidin from it--but then again no one said anything either--just got a copy of it in pay envelop w/a nice little $160 deduction!

    ANOTHER one of these threads?

I say the same thing every time.... IGNORE IT! You must be served by an officer of the court. When you get the ticket in the mail just IGNORE IT. You cant be suspended or have an arrest warrant issued until an officer hands you DIRECTLY a summons.

Ive had dozens sent to my office because people driving my trucks get them, all of them have MY name on them because the trucks are registered to me. I toss them in the circular file as soon as I get them. Never had a problem in 10 years of ignoring them.

Az. had a debate some years back about enforcing red light cameras/tickets. The conclusion was, un-enforceable. The reason, the state said these tickets are "courtesy" citations, and they are hoping the receipients will do the "honorable thing" and just pay them. However, if they don't, there isn't any follow up. One thing I do if I find myself in this situation is cover my face with my ball cap or newspaper when the camera flashes.

Lol, I did the same thing in CA. They had to have visual proof of who was behind the wheel in order to issue the ticket. Not all states require that though. Usually they're the ones that don't go on your MVR either and is just a fine.

My wife just got one a couple months ago in CA in our pickup. They reduced the fine to 1/3 the original cost just because she showed up to court and pleaded guilty.

I never got one from an out of state scam but in TN, my home state they sent one from Clarksville.

Easy to beat with a semi because they need the tractor plate and only capture the trailer which isn't enough according to TN code. And the crappy video couldn't show which state the plate was registered in. Just the numbers were legible. Also it is civil not criminal so you can just blow it off and you'll have a $50 civil bill due which isn't worth them going after.
