The greyhound un fortunately. But yes there is a back up. Swift said they are only concerned with 3 years mvr which ain't too bad they said the seat belt citations don't count against me I only have the accident to worry about. If all else fails on July 11th said accident will be beyond 3 years and then I shouldn't have to do much explaining to any company who only does a 3 year MVR.

Thank you for your concern and advice. I will be attending orientation about 75 miles from my home so worst case scenario I ride the greyhound home or get my fiance to come pick me up.

wow, i guess not all of us are perfect. i'm in a similar situation, back in 04/05 i was driving with no license, got a few tickets for those, a dwi, got into a crash. granted that was 8 yrs ago, not even sure if they care about it. but only problem i have, i finally got my license in '12, so it looks like i've had very little driving experience (<1yr), but frankly i was driving w/o a license (yes i realize I'm going to get slammed in here for doing that).. but best of luck to you, hope everything works out!

Swift pays 25 CPM after you get off the trainers truck (at least in Cali) While training you get min wage while driving(only you) and 8 dollars a hour while on duty not driving(or a dollar under your min wage). Yes, they pay you by the hour which is stupid they are the only ones I believe that do that. when you get off your trainers truck you take a drive test and do a back up test. Its not to bad. What happen to me though was I was told 3 to 4 days before I can get my truck I live 200 miles away so I was told I had to pay for the hotel myself but I didn't make that much while training and everything went to bills. I went home I waited for two and half weeks called 29 times in that span a couple of times a day before getting a truck. That was after being told TWICE not to come down to there. I didn't even receive a phone call back nothing. I had to go down there to get anything done. I got there at 8 am right on the nose I sat in my driver mangers office I think he figured it out. he was really trying to get me a truck then lol I am pretty tall I may have looked pretty pissed off too. I told him I would be back in two hours to check up. I came back at 10 still no truck. I then came back two hours at 11:15ish still no truck I told him I would be back at 2 pm and then went to have lunch he called me while I was having lunch told me he had a truck ready for me. I was happy till I got the truck 2008 with all most 1,000,000 miles on it. it broke down they wouldn't pay me lay over but I was smart enough to get to a truck stop.

DO NOT TRUST YOUR DRIVER MANGER PERIOD. my situation maybe a isolated incident but even so while I was out on training there were things that my trainers driver manger did to screw him over.

One thing I can say are the drivers at swift are awesome. I was having trouble at a truck stop moving my tandems and another swiftee came over and helped me out. I was at a terminal and it was a sunday and the yard was a mess with lots of drivers there. and I was trying to get around and got stuck and other drivers helped me get out of it. My inexperience of course, I just don't like the people behind the phones and the management. the drivers are great.

BTW my last name is Ramsey.

I'm sure everything will work out for you at Swift. Keep your head up and stay focused! Stick with them for a while and then move on to a better opportunity. I know how it is to have a messed up mvr so I definitely know where you're coming from.

Well I finished the classroom and driving portion of swifts training today and will be going to Ocala fl for my road training which is right around the corner from home. I'm sure all will be okay for a starter company get a year in and bounce if it isn't working out.

WOW, I'm surprised anyone offered you a job. I would stay take anyone dumb enough to hire you, and count your blessings. Stay with them 2 years and keep your nose clean and you will be set for life.
