Depends on your location and such really there are some in Iowa if your close (sorry mainly Midwest so if not Midwest not much help lol

For now, he needs to keep his nose clean and not tear anything up or hurt anybody. Location means everything, but until he has 6 months under his belt, I wouldn't burn any bridges or turn in any notices. After that, there are options that depend on home location and you will be better able to search these out particularly with some of the private carrier options that may be available to you.

Let him get a few months behind him with no problems/accidents etc. Then start hitting the LTL or food service companies close by, also if he already has his endorsements for Haz-Mat & tankers check into hauling fuel......good schedules and money there too. Good Luck.

"My husband JUST got his cdl"....yikes,might want to hold out for awhile before pulling a tanker.

Depends on where you live.
Food service companies, may be home weekly or even every night. Greatwide has many food service divisions.
Check with companies that have some dedicated accounts, such as with Walmart, that also hire new drivers. A couple are Schneider & Prime Inc. and both companies have tanker, flatbed and many other divisons. Maverick and McElroy have weekly hometime; but are you in their hiring area? -
Just got to look around. Drivers generally don't advertise if they got something good.
Tonythetruckerdude and Ghost Ryder Thank this. -
What is your location

Get 6 months to a year of experience before you start looking at other opportunities. Many LTL, feeder, and foodservice companies require this for one, and job hopping at this stage of your career does more harm than good.
