If that is upsetting to you, i have been emailing MNDOT Toward zero Death coordinator and the mn state patrol pictures of traffic signs that specifically put trucks at risk. You do it every day and don't this twice. Pull up to an intersection, look left, look right. Theres a sign blocking you view and forces you to pull forward. Creeping forward till you can see. I got SO uncomfortable on a couple, I got out only to see the nose of my truck was PAST the fog line amd into the travel lane of the traffic I was waiting for.
Some intersections they have fixed, others they ignore. But it shows culpability on the part of the DOT. -
I have said this since i first got my CDL,AND I Am still saying it,ALL DRIVERS NEW AND OLD NEED TO TAKE A TEST SIMILAR TO THE GENERAL KNOWLEDGE TEST FOR A TRUCK DRIVER.all people need to drive a truck simulator.WE ALL NEED TO BE ON THE SAME PAGE AND then maybe the People in the four wheelers will have respect for a truck.MN driver have you gotten any positive results?

I have seen a couple signs moved. More seem to be ignored though.
This isn't just a Minnesota problem. It stems from the federal manual on traffic markings.
More truckers need to step up and complain everywhere. We really are putting ourselves at risk needlessly because traffic engineers focus on cars and careless about trucks. When you stop and really think about those signs, they are place for cars with no regard tothe fact they are directly in our line of sight at intersection. -
...or just carry a chainsaw in the truck with you and "trim" any sign that obstructs your view.

We do not have the wood post in MN, we have steel so, oxy/acetylenel torch! or grinder with a zip cut disk and a genny for power lol
-
OK then.....one of these would work.

this is one of the responses I got from the state...
And another response from Eden Valley.
The stop bar he talks about puts you so far back, that you are then blocked in view from the west by the gas pumps/building to the north west of the intersection.
